Trying to tune in tv without remote (this is broken) using the buttons on the tv and it is asking for a pin number

Here are some steps to tune a Teac LED/LCD digital TV without a remote:

1. Find the TV's on-screen menu buttons on the TV itself (often located on the side or bottom of the TV)
2. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the channel setup or tuning menu
3. Select "Auto Tuning" or "Channel Scan" and follow the on-screen instructions to scan for available channels
4. If the TV has manual tuning option, select it and input the frequency, symbol rate, and other information for each channel you want to add manually.

Please include model number when posting, it is very helpful. Just a general answer though would be to use the buttons on the tv itself. Or you could pick up a universal remote and program it to work with your tv.

If you wish to buy a genuine remote control, you have to contact the authorized service center. If you wish to buy a universal remote control, you should know about, which brand remote control have set-up codes to your TV brand, and buy that one according to availability. The first thing you have to do is, to confirm the number of digits in the setup codes to your TV brand. There are 4 digit, 5 digit, 3 digit and even 2 digit codes. You can make it sure by entering '0s' at the code enter window the TV dispays, and asks codes. Enter 'Zeros', and count how many zeros can be enterd. That number will be the number of digit of setup code, the TV/Device need. If you can enter 5 zeros, the number of digit in the set-up code to your TV is a '5' digit one, if only 2 zeros can be enterd, the number of digits in the set-up code to your TV should be a 2 digit one, and so on.. It will be preferable to buy its genuine remote control by any way.

You have accidentally activated the system lock or parental lock. This usually happens when 2 buttons are pressed on the remote simultaneously.

You will need to enter a PIN number using the numerical keys on your remote. If you have set a PIN number for this TV you will need to enter this. If not, you will need to enter the manufacturer's default PIN number. This is usually a simple combination such as 000, 111, 222, 123, etc,

I can't tell you the exact PIN number without knowing the model number of the TV. Please try the simple number combinations shown above and post back with the model number if you need further assistance. The model number can usually be found on a sticker on the rear of the TV.

just go to menu and choose turbo/maunal search or go to channels and press right arrow key on your remote it will revert back to its previous settings

You haven't mentioned about the model number of your Philips TV. Different models have different type of tuning procedures. Any way I hereby send a procedure to set it autotuned. If it Doesn't work, please inform me through Fixya, stating your TVs model number also. ok

Press "Menu" on the remote control handset, and select the installation language.
Select a language and confirm it by pressing "OK" button on the remote control.
Press ' button to return to 'Instalation' menu.
Press "Menu" on the remote control handset and select Installtion > Preferences > Location.
Select 'Home" and press "ok" to confirm.
Press ' to come to the Installation menu.

TO TUNE CHANNELS AUTOMATICLY AND TO STORE

Press "Menu" on the remote control, "Select Installation" '>' Channels '>' Autoprogram '>' Start now.
Press "OK" and allow the start installation automatically.

If you run autoprogram when you have locked channels, a messege appears asking to enter your PIN code in order to complete instllation.
Try this, if doesn't work inform me with TVs model number. OK.
