On mx900 genesis universal remote the up down arrows to change channels will not work - cannot get guide to display -cannot change channels using#key pad - volume up down work fine suggestions?

The remote model number doesn't help directly. This remote controls several Sanyo TVs including the DP46142 and DP32242. Manuals Lib has the owner's manual (copyright 2012) here: https://www.manualslib.com/products/Sanyo-Dp46142-77711.html . Press Menu (below and to the left of the arrow keys). Select Setup (the icon that looks like a satellite dish) using the left/right arrows. Press the down arrow and go to ANT/Cable setup. Press OK (in the center of the arrow keys). Use the left/right arrow keys to make sure that the Ant In line is set to Antenna. Press OK. Go down to Auto Setup and press OK. Choose from All Channels, Analog Channels and Digital Channels and press OK again. Select Apply and press OK when the scan is finished. Note: digital channels will not display if the signal strength is low. You may need a different antenna or a different antenna placement. To view the list on the TV, press Menu. Use the Left/Right arrows to navigate to Help. Press the Down arrow or Enter. Use the Up/Down arrows to navigate to Learn More. Press Enter. Again use the Up/Down arrows and go to "Remote Control Codes". Press Enter to see the list. Press Menu to go up in the menu system. Press Exit to leave the menus. At least on the NS-55D420NA16, you can do this navigation with the keys on the right side of the TV. Input becomes Enter. Volume +/- are the left/right arrows. The Channel Up/Down arrows are the Up/Down arrows. Menu is the topmost button.

If all other functions works, except channel buttons, your remote control need cleaning. Check the site liked here for more details about how to clean a remote control. Pull up older posts there. Do a search by entering the brand name to your device by its search box at top right of the display window, because, posts are not arranged in alphabetical order, but by brand name first.

problem with universals is they do not if program have all the key features needed--try for a original remote.

Your RCA, system setup has changed I thinks.To change this you have to go to the Menu option surf for system settings, and change the system reception to "AUTO".

Setup

The Setup menu allows you to access the GUIDE Plus+ system setup information. To access the

Setup option:

1. If the GUIDE Plus+ system isn't on your screen, press GUIDE on your remote control.

2. Press MENU to select the Menu Bar.

Q. Why does my TV display "No Signal" or "Channel not in List"? A. Channel search needs to run the very first time of use or after the default settings are loaded from the OSD menu. The following steps will guide you through the process.

1. Press Source button until Tuner is visible on the upper right corner,
2. Press Menu button from the remote,
3. Press Down arrow key until you see Setup, then press the Right arrow key,
4. Press Down arrow key until you see TV, then press the Right arrow key,
5. Press Down arrow key until you see Auto Channel Search, then press the Right arrow key,
6. Press Down arrow key until you see Air (for antenna; select Cable if you have cable service), then press the Right arrow key. The scan process will start.
7. Wait until the process is complete then you will be able to select the channel you like to watch.

I have a 22" genesis LCD and can not get my Direct tv remote to work?

I found the solution!

With the remote, press the Guide button. This should bring up the Guide Plus+ screen. Press the right arrow to move the cursor all the way to set up and it will ask, "What would you like to do?" Arrow down to "Review Options" and press OK.
The first question is, "Guide Plus+ System Auto Display? On / Off"
Arrow down to Off and press OK.
