SOURCE: unusual display on panel (padlock) machine can't be programmed door is not locked however
i just went through the same thing.......you need to hold the option and extra rinse buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds, this will unlock it.....so turn the machine on and press the two icons, dont worry about the beeping and flashing after 6 seconds the padlock symbol will go and you can use the machine as usual.....i wish they put that 'minor detail' in the manual...cheers!!

SOURCE: Bendix washer-dryer door won't open
if you remove the panel in the front lower right hand coner of the washer you should be able to feel around in there for a plastic cord. pull the cord to manually unlock the door

SOURCE: Door won't open on Samsung washer
This has happened to me twice. Both times I found the drain pump seized up with
1st time) The right rim from a pair of reading glasses
2nd time) A plastic toothpick
Both times the object was in the discharge port of the pump. You can see this by lifting the check valve with the pump removed. Removing the pump is simple. Unplug the washer. You have to remove the drain line from where its attached to the rear of the machine (one screw) to remove the rear access panel which slides into upper and lower slots. You will see the pump with an inlet and discharge line attached. The lines have simple squeeze clamps. When you remove the lines, you will drain the wash basin so have towels and a squeegie handy. Remove both lines and wait until the basin drains. When it stops draining remove the pumps electrical connector by squeezing the release catch on it while pulling it. The connector can only go on one way. Remove the 3 hold-down bolts on the pump baseplate. Remove the pump and lift open the discharge check valve and you'll find something there I guarantee it. Remove with needle nose pliers and re-assemble in reverse order.
This is actually a good design because the computer protects the pump by sensing a higher than normal current draw when foreign debris gets jammed in it. It will trigger the ND (No Drain) code and sometimes lock the door. Always check this first before you call the expensive repair man. If its not a jammed pump it will most likely be the control panel/processor. Good luck and always clean out pockets before loading the washer to prevent this,

Tips for a great answer:
That's a great question, friend!
From what you have described your Electrolux dryer is not locking or starting when you hit the start button. It sounds like a potential issue with your door latch or main control panel. If your door latch is not sensing the door is closed and locked it will not start your washer cycle. Also, if your control panel is not registering the door is closed it will not lock and start the cycle. I suggest you reach out to a professional for proper repairs to be completed. If you do not have a professional contact you can visit your manufacturer's website for additional assistance. I hope this is helpful information to you. -Matt
Hello Elizabeth P Cochran - Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If the door does not open, then it sounds like the washer is possibly experiencing a communication problem with the control board, wiring failure or faulty door lock. Contact a professional to move forward accurately to properly diagnose/repair unit.
