Question about Pioneer AVIC-N2 Car DVD Player

1 Answer

AVIC-N2 stopped working and wont stop flashing PLEASE HELP!

My AVIC- N2 is by-passed and stopped working about 3 days ago. All the buttons are flashing on and off and none of them work when I try pressing them. I cant eject the movie that’s inside the unit and the screen comes out automatically once the car is on. The only way to close the screen and stop the flashing is to ether turn the car off or remove the face off the unit I don’t know how the problem started exactly because I was out of town when it occurred, but I know it happened when my wife tried to watch a movie.
I’ve tried to reset the unit by pushing that little button with a pin but that didn’t work. I also unplugged my car battery for about 2 hours thinking that it will reset the system but that didn’t help either.

Is there a way to completely reset the system that I’m not aware of?
Does anyone have any idea what is causing this problem?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated…

Thank you

Sound like the ribbon cable because before breaking off completely the vibration of the engine can cause current to fade in and out(open and close circuit).

The new ribbon cables had also found to be defected and failed some within 3 months, the best ribbon cables are sold by that guy on ebay. His ribbon cables meet military spec. I have no affiliate with him but good service will get you good reputation.

Ok are you sure you connected it up exactly as B4? Check it, any Fuses, Connections etc. If ya have,& it's OK, then I would be very cross at the Shop that charged ya $200.00 and it's still faulty... Don't muck around send it, or if possible take it, back and complain long and loud... this is really unacceptable. If you were my customer I would be bending over backwards to help.

Contact Tech Support for Pioneer. They have a call back on the Flex Cable which is the source of all your problems. It took 2-3 weeks for the repairs. Although, now I have a problem with the screen rolling out.

Definitly the ribbon cable. Pioneer will replace it one time for free but if you perfomed the by pass solder they will replace the board and charge you $200. The guy on Ebay will do it for $69 plus shipping.
