What connection does the V+ box have?
If its an HDMI connection, about 1.5 cm wide and 0.5 cm tall, you'll need an HDMI to DVI (Digital Video Input) converter cable. Plug this into the DVI input to the left of the Scart sockets when looking at the back of the TV. You should be able to get one from Currys/PC World/local HiFi shop.
If you get a message "Going to DPMI mode", it means that the DVI isn't receiving a signal. Check your manual for the V+ box and the TV to make sure that they're set up compatably.
I recently bought an Onkyo AV Receiver and run the output from it into the TV using one of these cables. Picture is upscaled to 1080i by the Onkyo and, with 5.1 speakers, its great.
Good luck

If the plug has three prongs and shaped like a flat top pyramid a standard computer style cable will work. If not draw the shape best you can of the plug and go to a local repair shop or electronics store and they may be able to help. Alot of these cables are interchangable.

Turn on set. press a bright flashlight against the screen. Look at the edge and see if you can see an image moving. Then the video is getting to the screen. You just need the backlight to see it.
If this set is under warranty, take it back to let them repair it for free.
If not then you will need to replace the backlight inverter board(s).
I think this set has two inverters. (master/slave)
IF YOU KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH ELECTRONICS REPAIR(replacing boards ) or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can fix it.
You can search for the inverter from several sources.
