laser cleaning cd's very rarely work. the only thing they are good for is if there is a build-up of dust on the lens. Sounds like you most likely need to have the laser replaced.
Hi Wendy CD-Rs and CD-RWs have a component that ordinary music CDs do not have -- an ...This additional track space includes the power memory area (PMA) and the ... which tells the CD player what part of the disc it is reading at any particular time. ...uncorrected error on a music CD only means a bit of fuzz or a skipping noise. GOOD LUCK !
Try a head cleaner first and if that doesnt work then look around for a new cd player or use the computer as if its what i think it is then its not reading correctly and it not really repairable ,Well financialy viable as i think the memory reading of the circuitry is questionable.
Looks that your player needs a adjustment, or you have dirty lasersliders. There are two chrome sliders besides the laserunit, sometimes there's some dust on it. You can clean it with a cottontip dipped in pure alcohol (96% or more). You can grease it again with just a little bit of teflon oil (also on a cottontip).
