Make sure that you have the source set to FM or AM and the correct sound quality mode selected. Then press the Search track (fast forward or fast reverse) buttons on the remote. (These two buttons have the << or >> symbols and are on either side of the Stop button on the original remote.) If you press and hold the button, the radio will scan the frequencies in that direct until the next station that can be tuned in. The Skip buttons ('<< or >>') only goes to preset stations. As far as I can tell, these buttons are not on the main unit.

I think that you haven't the operating manual to your Panasonic system. I've the manual to your system, but I can't send it to you by this site, as it does not allow me to upload any files by it. Original manual found - note the Model No. is listed as SC-EN38DB i.e. complete system (main unit = SA-EN38DB; speakers = SB-EN38; remote control = N2QAYB000245):

"Press and hold (PLAY MODE) until 2DAB AUTO SCAN' appears. When a frequency is tuned by Auto scanning on this unit, the ensemble corresponding to the frequency is displayed for approximately 2 seconds"
