My Toshiba 62hm195 DLP HDTV's HDMI ports have been losing sound intermittently. Both HDMI ports while connected to multiple devices (HDTV cable box, Panasonic Streaming Player) lose sound intermittently...

Your problem is in the streaming player. It is not keeping up and when an HDMI loses connection it will not auto find it again. To verify this take the Panasonic out of the loop and see if this fixes it. I love HDMI but it is touchy

There's no sound with my STR-V555ES 5.1 channels and there is protector in display

It is possible that the amplifier had encountered a fault with a higher current drain which had triggered it to a protection fault condition. The fault can be with your output drivers. Please check for short on the outputs fitted for both the channels. Use a meter after disconnecting to check for short in the drivers. Disconnect the positive and negative voltages to the output and see if the protect changes. Even a fault in the preamp stages that drives in high current into the output can shut the Amplifier. Sometimes this can be a noise which can be a HUM or HISS before the protect works. Faulty capacitors in these circuits also can cause similar issues and needs close observation. You need to confirm and replace the specific stages or outputs. If not there can be issues in the mother board. Maybe the protect circuit by itself is shutting off due to a faulty bias or there is a leak in any voltage/current sensing circuit. Also disconnect the speakers and test, if the amplifier comes out of the protect mode then check for short on the speakers.

I have a sony 40 inches bravia flat screen hd and

Could be the decoder:

1. unplug the TV ans wait a few mins.
2. If you have digital cable box or dish tuner reboot those as well (likely your issue)

What you have is artifacting what that means is tiling garbiling and freezing this happends when the data in the digital stream just stopped hence Frozen.

Try those things rule out your cable tv box first or your sat box, if this is OTA over the air your antenna.

1. Try DVD's if it happends during a DVD you do have a decoder issue if it does not you need to talk to your cable tv or sat operator.

So you got 3 possiabilites here 1. the worse Decoder, 2 cable company or satalite provider, 3 your antenna is in the wroung position.

I sure this will help.

HI, I have a sony v555es amp and it gives me the following error message "protector OPT.....please power off"

You might be trying to push it too hard, or you might have a short somewhere. Disconnect everything from the reciever except its power cord and turn it on. If it still goes into protect mode, then try to find a reset switch (not sure if this is on the Sony, some recievers have them). If it's NOT in protect mode, then you had a speaker wire shorting out on the back. Make sure that you don't have any stray wires when you connect the cables on the back of your receiver. It only takes one strand of copper to short out the amp section. If that doesn't work then pull the top cover off and chech the fuses out. One of them might be blown.

Audio Video Receiver Problems

It sounds like the center channel isn't plugged into the correct speaker output. Unhook the speakers and reattach them while paying VERY close attention to which jacks you're putting them in. Report back with results.

Sony V555ES Amp:

Try setting your amp to "auto format decode".
It should easily be heard in this mode.
The sub will not show up on the display when in 5.1 mode. (Blue light on)
Use this with music, and use the 5.1 with movies to get a better experience from your amp.
The sub will work in 5.1 but doesn't show up in the display. Try movies with loud sounds.
Most of the pre-set sound fields are of no use to me. I only use normal surround, and AFD and love it. I hope this works for you!
