I have the same issue. Is not the cord. When I removed the cover, the cors pulls out and retracts fine. Is something else.
In youtube the show to connect the water and pull the cord while you keep the trigger so the air gets out. It works on the video and for almost everyone making comments. Still didn't twork for me. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Starting a small engine.

place it back up the right way
remove the spark plug
fill the sump to the correct level
pull the cord a few times to expel any excess oil out of the cylinder
remove air cleaner to remove any excess oil from the filter
clean the plug by washing in solvent to remove oil
install plug, prime or choke and it should go
will smoke for a while until the oil in the muffler burns out

I have a gc160 honda pressure washer. when trying to crank the washer with the pull cord it acts like it wants to crank but never does.i have changed the sparkplug took the carb. off and cleaned it...

release the water pressure on the pressure gun.that helps.shouldnt have blowby coming out the breather.that indicates worn rings.do a compression check.should be at least 90-130 PSI

My Honda GC160 engine on my pressure washer is next to impossible to pull start. I have checked and added oil to make sure it is full. Still no luck getting it to pull.

honda pressure washer ohv was running great died like someone turned of the switch ! has spark, oil full, sparkplug looks good any ideas please.

Power Washer will not start - pull cord seems to be stuck

hi take out the bolts holding the compleat pull starter remove unit pull the cord if it wont move something is jamming it inside if it is ok then the fault is with the motor //seized or washer remove washer pump if engine turns over /pump seized the fault is 1 of the three you have now found out wich 1 starter, motor or pump it will take too long to go over all 3 get back when you have got this far merlinv12
