Samsung s1065 beeps 3 times nothing else. only 6months old wont turn on. bought recommended batteries, still wont turn on

my samsung camera s1065 the lens wont extend when switching on the lens does not extend ,it bleeps 3 times but then closes down

Mine just did the same thing. It is frozen on and stopped working while I was trying to change the flash setting. Even the image of what I was pointing at is stuck on the screen. Mine is only about 3 months old. I tried holding down the power button and it did nothing. Taking the battery out and putting it back in worked. I hope this doesn't happen again!

tried above,but 3 beeps and dead camera has shown up on numerous forums from many s1065 owners so got repair under g/tee. if it happens again i'll have a replacement !!!

If you have recently dropped the camera you may have damaged the lens tube (housing). This damage will prevent the lens from moving properly and will cause the camera to shut itself off after a few seconds. If the lens is damaged the camera will require professional repair. If the lens is not damaged, the problem may be battery related. Make sure that you have the correct battery type installed, and that the batteries are fresh/fully charged. If the problem persists, you may have corrosion on the battery contacts inside that camera that is preventing full battery power from flowing to the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the inside camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sand paper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and reinstall them in the camera. This cleaning solves the problem about 90% of the time, and I hope it works for you.

Everytime I try to turn it on, the lens comes out for about a second, the camera beeps 3 times, the lens retracts and the camera shuts off. The battery is completely charged and the camera is only 4 months old. HELPP :(

IT USUALLY DOES THAT WHEN THE BATTERIES ARE DYING AND IT SHUTS DOWN - HAVE YOU TRIED USING RECHAREGABLE BATTERIES - THEY LAST A LITTLE LONGER.

I had thesame problem when I bought my s1065, until I opened the battery compartment & found I had no memory card in, I went to Argus & bought one for £19 50p & now I can take as many photos as I like.

Try replacing the batteries.That's what my camera did when it just needed a battery replacement.

Are you sure that your batteries were fully charged? I have the same issue when using shop bought aa batteries - or they don't last very long at all.

That 3 beeps and turning off is what should happen along with a "battery low" error message on the screen from experience.

When I bought the recommended charger and two batteries from Amazon - they lasted a lot longer. Search the website for the charger battery code suggested in the instructions.
