I know this want be easy for you.  I need any kind of part number you can get off the LCD screen.  Is it a display and you type the different stitch stuff into a keypad?  Or , is the LCD a touch screen that you touch the screen to select a stitch?  I do not have one of these Sewing machines, but I do Electronics repair. Is your Screen Black and not displaying anything?  I believe we can work through this and get you a repair solution. The back light may have gone out on the screen only. Please reply with more info, so that we can get you a solid solution.  By the way, Singer really does not make those anymore.  They are making a more modern Screen at this time. Usually after 5 years, the manufacturers stop making parts for a model. Good news though, we can work on repairing the one you have. Go to Ebay and see if we can buy a XL1000, or other venue to rob the parts from.

Calibrate the diplay
The Display calibration can be opened as follows:
- turn off the sewing-/embroidery computer
- touch the two needle positioning buttons on the front panel and keep them pressed
- turn on the sewing-/embroidery computer and release the buttons as soon as the Display appears
- touch the calibration icon
- touch the center of the cross using the touch pen
-- the cross moves to the next position
- repeat this until all three positions shown are calibrated
-- the Display is closed
-- the adjustment is saved

I would suggest you stay with the plastic bobbins. but if your still
in doubt contact the singer website & ask them. me myself I would
stay with the plactic bobbins, & I've been sewing for over 30 years.
you have a very nice sewing machine.

I have posted the answer to this problem if the sceen is misaligned just turn off the machine and hold down the frist to buttons turn the machine back on the singer sceen shows up touch ithe sceen it should freeze and then a small black box should show up touch the box and it should move to a differant spot touch it four times and then rub you finger accross the stright stiche white button at the bottum of the sceen this saves the changes.

well P it sounds like your hoop might be bent or at least the pins that go into the arm see if you can bend them out a bit also does this happien with all sizes of hoops?
Also for the Guest make sure that your needle isn't bent better yet just change the needle also take your bobbin out and flip it the other way and see if it still comes through hope this helps you guys

Does the machine stitch OK in sewing mode? If so, the shaft in the embroidery bed may need to be oiled.

With the machine turned off, remove the embroidery bed. Turn it over and inspect the round shaft that goes from one side to the other. It is clean or does it have some black residue on it? If black, wipe it with a clean soft cloth. There are felt pads at each end of the shaft. Are they dry? They need to be oiled with a good quality sewing machine oil -- don't over do it -- just enough to lightly saturate each pad. Never use household lubricants on any part of the machine -- they usually are paraffin based and will eventually become gummy. If any oil gets on the plastic case, remove it ASAP. It can cause the plastic to deteriorate.

Inspect those pads regularly -- do not let them dry out. If you embroider every week, check the pads at least once a month.
