Haier LE50H3280 will not power on

I have a 50" Haier LE50H3280 that will not power on. The red LED stays solid (guessing that is the standby light) For diagnosing, I removed the back cover and checked voltage on my power supply board. **With the ribbon cable that goes from the power supply board to the main board to plugged in** I get the following voltages: 13.15V at every 12V terminal ... I get 4.25V (marked as a 5V terminal) at the standby terminal. **When the ribbon cable from the power supply board to the main board unplugged, I don't get voltage at any of the terminals.** What are my next steps to determine if my problem is in my power supply board or if the problem might be in my main board?

If all power supply voltages are within specs, then it just might be an issue with your main board,.

If PS board has a relay make sure that it is also working.

Do you consider it "within spec" for the standby terminal to have 4.25V instead of 5V? Also, am I checking the voltages correctly by leaving the ribbon cable connected that connects the power supply to the main board? I'm thinking it should be correct since I get no voltage readings when I disconnect the ribbon cable.
A couple more questions related to the PS board relay...how would I identify the PS board relay and what is the proper procedure to test it.
I don't have ( and am not having any success locating) a service/repair manual or schematic for this model TV...any help or suggestions of where I could locate one would be appreciated.

I did notice the discrepancy of 4.25 volts instead of the 5 volts. Also noticed that your other voltage(s) was over the 12 volts. That is why I responded with the "within spec" comment. That could be the problem since it is almost 25 % below the nominal 5 volts.

Taking the readings while PS is connected would appear to be correct since you are placing the output lines under load conditions which usually lowers the voltage. I was surprised by the fact that you had no voltage without the ps being connected but maybe that is because it has to be connected to main board to turn it on! Oh, a relay is usually a small rectangular item with about 4 connections - two of them power the magnet and the other two are for conducting the current when the connection is made as the points close.

Getting a manual could be problematic and/or expensive since those suckers are usually not easy to get; and if you do find one, it is not a freebie. I am sure that you have googled it to the high heavens.

If that were my set and I really wanted to fix it I would look into the cost of a replacement PS board since they are subject to a lot of strain and compared to other boards are relatively inexpensive.

U can always check out ebay for good, used, working parts on the cheap.

Does your manual have a difficulty section regarding the diagnostics or blink codes or lack thereof?

I have a 51inch LG TV and never had a problem I turned it off as normal and then tried to turn it on a while later and nothing I only got a red solid stand-by light it don't flash when press side buttons...

Try following the steps below.
Step 1
Press the power button once. If the TV does not turn on, observe the LED indicator, usually located on the TV's lower front panel. If the LED indicator turned off after you pressed the power button once, it is in standby mode. Press the power button once again to exit standby and turn on the TV.

Step 2
Observe the Standby light if the remote control will not work. If the Standby light stays on, the television is in Standby mode. Press the power button on the television, then try to use the remote.

Step 3
Turn the Energy Saving Switch off, then press the power button. The Energy Saving Switch is located on the rear or side panel on most Sony model TVs. Refer to your TV user manual for the exact location of the switch.

My Samsung LED has a flashing blinking light on the front. When I power on, it does not go into standby mode. It just turns solid red for a few seconds and then starts blinking. No image on screen. Is it...

I'm guessing you meant to say 'power off''. Otherwise it sounds like you have reasonably guessed there may be an electronic malfunction -- but with this, as with any device with a 'chip', I'd suggest first literally 'pulling the plug,' or if it's surge protected powering that down. Give it 30 seconds or so, then power back up. Best of luck!

Power Issue

Now,u plug in the tv u get a solid red standby power red LED light in the front of the LCD panel right? When u push the power button on the remote u hear a clicking sound?Only one clicking sound, not the power supply board problems. It the Tuner board problems. But u can make sure it the power board problems or not.By taking the tv aparts check the power board, that board where the a/c power cord goes into it.Look all around the power supply board check for these leakage capacitors, they alway bulges up it top or puff up it top.No bad leakage capacitors, then it not the power supply board problems.
