How do I wind a bobbin?

I haven't had to wind a bobbin in quite a while, and then I lost my bobbins in my most recent move. I have googled and googled but the only option I see is to spend $10 on a new manual. I thought I would ask here before I did that.

Actually, $10 for a manual is probably a valuable investment. It will not only help you with threading & winding the bobbin but also with maintenance and care of your machine and as well as how to use your machine. Similar brand machines thread and wind the bobbin in the same manner. So, even finding a similar Necchi and the bobbin winding method should be helpful.

My bobbin winding shaft isn't gripping the bobbin. The shaft spins but the bobbin doesn't and so the thread doesn't wind onto the bobbin

My Singer Slant-o-Matic 500a sewing machine will not wind a bobbin. The winding pin barely started to turn, then no motion. Also, the wheel doesn't seem to tighten.
Your machine is an older mechanical machine, so have you cleaned and oiled it recently? Usually, older machines' oil will gunk up over time and stop things from moving like they should. Use only Fresh, good quality sewing machine oil. Do NOT oil belts, cams, rubber, or plastic parts. Slowly rotate the handwheel and place a couple drops of oil every place where metal rubs metal. To speed up the process, direct hot air from a handheld hairdryer into the internal metal parts.

My endless automatic bobbin winding for embroidery doesn't work?
Are you using the bobbin especially designed for that function? Did you use the plastic template? Setting up for endless bobbin winding is quite involved, and it's easy to skip a step and make a mistake. It took me several tries to set mine up.. Frankly, once I finally got it set up, I wasn't thrilled. It doesn't hold a lot of thread, and it was quite frequently interrupting the project to wind more thread on the bobbin.

My bobbin winds unevenly, there is always more thread at the bottom of it than there is at the top. Neither switching to the original pfaff bobbin nor either spool position works.
I always use my finger to guide the thread as the bobbin is winding,the bobbin shouldn't be moving around in the metalcase probably needs tightened.

I just inherited another Huqvarna (this is a model 630). It was working great until I wound a bobbin on it. After I removed the filled bobbin the machine won't move the needle up and down (but the bobbin...
I do not know the Husqvarna Viking 630. However, I have used the Viking 6690 and it has a similar on-the-side bobbin winding routine. I suspect that you failed to move the bobbin winding mechanism back into the sewing position. Look closely at the area around the bobbin winding spindle. It looks like there is a lever below the spindle. Does this need to be moved or rotated? Double check the steps in the manual and check that you did the opposite steps of preparing to wind the bobbin.

On the 6690, you pull out a knob after removing the bobbin. (You push this piece in and put the bobbin onto the now exposed spindle for winding.)

How do you turn off the bobbin winding function? I've lost the manual for the machine and I can't quite remember what the process is.

Bobbin won't wind correctly!!
Iam very picky about my bobbins!

make sure you are threading the machine for the bobbin correctly, In my opinion I don't think any machine really winds well.

What I do is hold the thread about an 1" away from the bobbin. start to wind and I guide the thread slowly up and down the bobbin so that it winds even
