Question about Dell 924 All-in-One InkJet Printer

Dell 924 Printing Problem

My Dell 924 will print a few lines then stop. It will not let met cancel the document. I have to shut down the printer and turn off the computer to clear the document. This happens at least once a week and is very annoying. Also, my scanner recently stopped scanning. It does nothing when told to scan. No action or comments given as to why it will not scan.

    my printer will not scan i have reinstalled it multiple times with no result.
    It copies and prints but doesn't scan.

    AIO 924 will print emails and the such but when I press SCAN, I can see the screen "blip" if you will...but it does nothing. I have scanned before so this is a new problem.

    Not smart enough to know how to troubleshoot this other than OFF/ON button.

GG88 your need to lubricate carrier bar inside printer rub your finger along the length of the bar if if feels dry apply two to three drops of 3in 1 oil to the bar with power off after lubricating the bar turn back on and happy printing

this is routine maintenace once a year

Missing lines of print

You either have to change the ink cartridge or try to clean the ink cartridge nozzles as described in the user manual;

On page 54 it states the following:

To clean the ink cartridge nozzles:
1 Load plain paper. For more information, see "Loading Paper" on page 19.
2 In Windows XP, click Start-Control Panel-Printers and Other Hardware-Printers and
Faxes.
In Windows 2000, click Start-Settings-Printers.
3 Right-click the Dell Photo AIO Printer 924 icon.
4 Click Printing Preferences.
The Printing Preferences dialog box opens.
5 Click the Maintenance tab.
6 Click Clean Print Cartridges.
7 If the print quality has not improved, click Print Again.
8 Print your document again to verify the improved print quality.
9 If you are not satisfied with the print quality, wipe the ink cartridge nozzles, and then print
your document again.

My dell 924 wont print what i want when on the internet, keeps trying to print 12 pages of <script?


Hi

You don't say which operating system you use.

Try clearing the printer's memory cache.

Start > (ControlPanel) Printer(s) > double click on the Dell 924 icon > cancel all pending documents > close > power printer off > disconnect printer cable > restart computer > power printer on > reconnect printer cable > test print again.

If you still have a problem consider downloading any firmware, updates or security patches from here:

If this does not fix the problem you might have a corruption in your driver software. If so, uninstall all components of the driver software from Add or Remove Programs > restart the computer > reinstall printer drivers and applications > test print.

Another consideration may be some form of spyware infection controlling your browser settings. If so, consider enhancing your spyware and browser protecting by downloading, installing and scanning with:

Malwarebytes (www.malwarebytes.org)

SuperAntispyware (www.superantispyware.com)

Unlike antivirus software, multiple antispyware/antimalware programs can run simltaneously on a computer

Printer Problems


Uninstall the printer driver software completely and then download the drivers from the dell website for the Dell 924. Reboot the system and it should be okay.

Wrong ink color Dell 924 printer


run a nozzle clean, perform the following steps:
  1. Verify the All-In-One Printer 924 is powered on and connected to a computer.
  2. Verify that the paper support (input tray) has clean, plain white paper loaded.
  3. Press the Menu button.
  4. Press the Down button until Mode: Maintenance appears on the LCD screen.
  5. Press the Menu button.
    The Dell 924 Maintenance Menu appears on the LCD screen.
  6. Press the Down button until Clean Cartridges appears on the LCD screen.
  7. Press the Start button.
    The AIO 924 prints the cleaning page. This process cleans the ink cartridges and resolves many print quality issues.

924 message "printer is busy"


Take out the cartridges
disconnect printer from computer
Turn off the printer

On the computer cancel documents in queue
if using a straight USB connection, delete all instances of printer. else remove duplicate printer icons.
reboot.

Reconnect printer (swap cables if not detected)
Insert the cartriges

Try printing again

Scanner issues


disconnect the printer from the computer and also unplug the power adapter of the printer , wait for 30 seconds and reconnect the power adapter and try to copy a document , if it works then there are no issues with the scanner.

if it still gives you the msg scanner busy. then click on start ----->click on RUN-----> type "control printers" click OK , right click on dell AIO 924 and then click "cancel all documents".
restart the printer and then try scanning.

Dell Printer will no longer communicate


RELOAD DRIVER FROM DISK THAT CAME WITH YOUR PRINTER.

IF YOU DONT HAVE A DISK DO INTERNET SEARCH FOR DELL PINTER DRIVERS DELL 924

YOU NEED TO KNOW WHICH OPERATING system you are using Windows 98,xp ETC.

DOWNLOAD DRIVER INSTALL AND HAPPY PRINTING.

Perforation when I print
