SOURCE: Air Conditioner Smoke

The smoke you are seeing is the cold air turning the hot humid air into a cool mist. This may happen when you first run the a/c to cool the room. Once the room is cooled down you should not see the mist any more.

SOURCE: Whirlpool air conditioner blows out

Fortunately, that's not smoke. It's a cool mist or fog, that is caused by high outside humidity and the coldness of the cooling coils. Generally, it's nothing to be concerned about. Just be sure that you keep the air intake filter clean and the the drain hole in the drain pan is not clogged.

I hope this was of help to you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

SOURCE: odorless smoke coming out of

That's a cool mist, like a fog. It's not smoke and occurs when the outside humidity is extremely high.
Be sure the air intake filter is clean and if it continues for a long time, raise the temperature setting of the AC a couple of degrees and allow it to run, until the mist clears. It harmless, so don't worry about it.

It fire's up run's for 30 second's act's like it will die spit's out bunch of smoke start's it all over again!

You have an air conditioner that is spitting smoke?-- That sounds pretty dangerous!-- and likely FINAL!

I wonder if you are talking about something other than an Air Conditioner?

Your Problem is listed under Air Conditioners--

Maybe you can give us more clues, and more exactly what make and model we are talking about-- Maybe we can be more helpful then?

My rooftop ac "lets the smoke out" when i turn it to AC but the fan runs fine without smoking. What should i look for?

Hi,
Depending on the humidity and temperature it will "smoke" but the smoke is actually just water vapor and just means that it is working very well....I think that is what is happening in your case...I would not worry about it...
