My Panasonic indash flip out will power up but no power to the screen and it is now stuck open and blank what can I do it worked fine from my buddy I got it from in his car

Yes. It probably shorts in the wiring in the hinged area.

Hi,

It sounds like the ribbon cable has worked itself loose either on the flip or the main body of the camera itself.
If you are confident that you can can take the camera apart and check the cables then all you will need is a set of precision screwdrivers, patience and steady hands as you will be working with delicate parts.

If your not confident with repairing yourself then i recommend that you take the camera to a specialist.

It does look as if your LCD screen is dead, they are not cheap to replace, but you could pop it in to your local Camera shop, they will mostly be glad to help you.
