Playstation 2 will not save "corrupt file"

Playstation 2 I played Gran Turismo 3 and tried to save my game, it said corrupt file and would not save. The only thing I have saved on the brand new memory card is a file for Guitar Hero 3 and a file for Guitar Hero Aerosmith.

I think its better you check your re-installed updates, games etc......Try removing some unwanted files and increase the disk space.....also this problem arise when your newly installed drive is not compatible with your software.....

Granttirismo does not open on racetracs keep on loading but does not open

Hello educare have and welcome to FixYa. I see you are having issues with loading your game data in Gran Turismo 5 for the PS3. Sadly it appears that your game data has been corrupted and the data will have to be reinstalled but before we go with that method lets try this first.

1- Go to the Gran Turismo Main Menu and select Options on the lower right half of the screen.

2- Now you will have to scroll down to the bottom of the Options Menu until you see Advanced Options and select it.

3- Now you will see an option to Salvage Data. Select it.

4- Your PS3 will now attempt to recover your data. If the screen after a few moments says Data Recovered then you are good to go however if it says Data Recovery Failed we now have to take more drastic options.

5- Quit your game and return to the XMB menu.

6- Go to Game Data located in the Game Data section.

7- Find and select your Gran Turismo 5 file and press the SQUARE button.

8- You will see the option to delete the file. Select that option.

9- Now we have just deleted your Game Data file but not your Game Save Data file.

10- Return to your game and then retry loading your tracks. If all works out your tracks should load and all of your car collection data and profile will still be fully intact.

I hope you found this information useful and I wish you the very best of luck educare and thank you for using FixYa.

I put in the game Gran Turismo 5 into my PS3 and instead of loading in the game the screen pops up and says (Accessing game data. Please do not switch off the system while the HDD access indicator is...

This means it's loading your Game Data. There's nothing wrong with this appearing on the screen, it's common and simply indicates that it's loading your last saved state.
If it's stuck on that for a long period of time and not taking you into the game, then you need to go into the Saved Data Utility on your PS3 and delete your saved data file for Gran Turismo 5. Something might be corrupt.
Gran Turismo 5 uses a lot of the PS3's power, so having longer than average load times doesn't mean something is wrong with your PS3.

I had a gran turismo 4 that went out so I bought new and it does not act now, even though it is quite new

do you have a slimline ps2? the problem is more than likely with the drivers in your console. do all your other games work just fine? only gt4 thats not working? gt4 is a duel layered disc unlike most games.
my console won't play it either. plays all other games, even ones on the blue discs wiv no problem.

Cant play turismo 5 only on line

All of the new games try to connect to the internet as soon as the game loads. It's like all the silly errors you get when you turn your computer on without the internet. My ps3 automatically connects me to the internet as soon as I turn it on. You shouldn't be limited to playing online like warhawks. I think it's just an annoyance.

If this is Gran Turismo 4 you are talking about, then if you still have the save file on your memory card from Gran Turismo 3 you can transfer your credits and all your license data over to Gran Turismo 4. In Gran Turismo 4 go to Home>Status>and it should give you an option somewhere on the bottom on the screen to transfer data, I think you press the square button. It has been a while since I've played Gran Turismo 4.
