SOURCE: there are three dots in a row on every printed

Locate and check the printer drum. You should be able to see the mark that is causing the line on your page. It could be a scratch or a ring of toner that the wiper is not picking up because a nick or something under it. Try cleaning the drum with a very soft dry cloth and inspect it again. If the mark is still there the drum will have to be replaced. Do Not Try To Clean The Drum With Any Type Of Solvent!

How do Print a scanned image

This is a complicated issue. You have to understand the computer term DPI, which stands for Dots Per Inch. This applies in three places:
  1. when you scan, you can set this
  2. when you display it on your monitor, your monitor will be usually 72 DPI or 100DPI depending on what resolution your video driver is set to
  3. when you print, it depends what resolution your printer can print at. Your printer can also stretch the image onto the paper by duplicating dots as needed.

Dots = Pixels
In PixWizard, we show you the image size in Dots.

Let's assume you scan at 300 DPI. You scan an 8x10 picture. This is saved as 2400 dots (8" x 300 dots/inch) by 3000 dots (10" x 300). Let's assume your printer is 600DPI. In dots, this is 4800 (8" x 600) by 6000 (10" x 600). For best results, you should scan at 600DPI and set the print options to use a 1:1 scale when printing. Our programs can also stretch the image to fit the entire printable area of your printer.

Prints black dots at bottom of page - photoconductor was replaced earlier today

The black dots could be a few things, the most likely would have something to do with the drum area because the dots didn't appear until after service. If the dots are only about an inch apart it is probably the charge roller. If there is only 1-2 dots per page, the issue is likely with the drum. These figures are assuming you are running 8 1/2 x 11 paper with the long edge being fed in first. If this is the case, you can change the paper to feed with the short edge first and this may get you by until the technician gets back out to fix it.

Ricoh 3800 printing dots on the page

sounds to me like there is damage to the charge roller in the black pcu. these can be dissasembled and the charge roller inspected/cleaned but the blk drum units are inexpensive enough its probally just better to replace it

Brother HL 2070N Drum Unit changed but printing with dots on the left hand side

If toner leaked into the machine and got on the fuser that could cause this, but the dots would go away after a few prints. Try another drum unit.

Vertical dots on print output

1 1/2 inches apart would correspond to the diameter of the primary charge roller. You have one chrarge roller inside each toner cartridge so you need to determine which color the dots are and then replace that cartridge.

Black dots on copies.

Try using the roller cleaning or wire cleaning procedure in additional functions. If fault persists, it might be toner build up on the fuser roller from dots worn onto the surface on the fuser rollers.
