SOURCE: My magic jack plus will not work and I am wondering if the electrical connector is bad.

There is a blue power light on the magicjack plus, near the word "plus". Check for that light.
With your Magicjack plugged into the AC wall socket thru a power module, is the blue light on or off? Try plugging the magicjack directly into a USB port on your computer. Does the power light come on now?
If that light is on when plugged into a USB socket and off when plugged into the AC wall socket thru the power adapter, then the problem is the power adapter had failed.
Power adapter module failure is a common problem with the magicjack.

Solution:
Magicjack is aware of the problem and offers a replacement power supply. To contact them, go to www.magicjack.com and go to "support". They will ship you a new power module for about $5.50. Some people have reported that the replacement modules from Magicjack are no better than the originals and have had repeat failures.
Consider getting a power module from another source. There are lots of AC to USB power converter modules available on Ebay for only a few dollars. Search Ebay for "magicjack power adapter".

My magic jack phone stopped ringing and the handset says no line

It sounds like the magic jack is not getting power. Is it plugged into the computer, or a wall outlet? Is the blue light on?

If it is plugged into a computer then unplug the Magic Jack and reboot the computer wait until it reloads and then plug the Magic Jack into a different USB port.

If it is plugged into the wall, Then unplug it for 5 min and then plug it back in.

If it doesn't come up and it is still covered by Magic Jack open up a chat with them at the link here. http://www.magicjack.com/contact.html

My magic jack is not working it is saying no line

The Magic Jack needs power. If it is plugged into your computer or the wall jack, but your unit still doesn't have power, the jack could be defective. Why not unplug the jack from where it is plugged in now, wait for five minutes, and plug it back in. If the device still doesn't work, there is a possibility the jack no longer works.

My magic jack plus has only the blue light working ,the other two stop working and I don´t have tone on my phone. Thanks for you help.

Sounds like your power supply for the magic jack went bad. You can plug it into your computer usb connection and see if it works there -- if it does work there then you need another power supply transformer.

My magic jack plus will not work and I am wondering if the electrical connector is bad.

Go to the magic jack website and update your adapter. Also try different USB ports and reboot your computer with magic jack connected. If the computer does not recognize the adapter, try disconnectin and reconnecting into different ports. There is a update option on magic jack website and tech support as well.

Why will my magic jack work plugged into the wall outlet?

This is a common problem with the magicjack. It works when plugged into a USB port on the computer, but not when plugged into an AC wall socket.

Problem:
The separate power converter module has failed.
When the magicjack is plugged into your computer USB port, it is getting power directly from the 5 volt source in the USB port.
In order to use AC wall current to power the magicjack, a power converter module is needed. That module contains a transformer and rectifier that coverts 115V AC into 5V DC. That module is no longer supplying 5V to the magicjack.

Tech section - you can probably skip this part:
The problem is poor quality low ESR electrolytic capacitors in the power module. ESR is Equivalent Series Resistance. A low number is good, high is bad. The ESR of a capacitor is measured with an ESR meter.
The 5V output of the power module measured only 3.5V. I took the power module apart to to trouble shoot. I found two 220uF 10V capacitors that were labelled "Low ESR" (C8 and C9). I measured the ESR of these caps and C8 measured 1.5 Ohms. I replaced the C8 cap and it fixed the problem. 5V output was restored.

Solution:
I do not recommend repairing these power modules. I did it out of curiosity. These modules are very cheap.

I can call out on my Majic Jack Plus but cannot receive calls. The majic Jack is registered and set up on my modem.

This could be failure of the power adapter module.
Is your Magicjack plugged into the wall power thru a power adapter? Try bypassing the power adapter and plugging the magicjack directly into a USB port on your computer. If the magicjack work correctly now, then you have a bad power adapter module.
I had a similar problem. My Magicjack was plugged into a wall socket. First the dial tone became inconsistent, then I could no longer receive calls, then it died completely.
I plugged the MJ into a USB socket on my computer, and it then worked normally.
If you have a failing power adatper, it will continue to deteriorate, and it will eventually fail completely. The blue power on the magicjack will not come on when it is plugged into the power adapter, but it will illuminate when plugged into the USB socket on the computer.
Note: the computer must be on to power the magicjack thru the USB port.

Magic Jack long distance service on internet

I have a Magic Jack and it is plugged into my computer. I don't have to do anything to call a long distance call. Do you have the new one that does not need to be plugged into you computer? You do not need to have any other application running to use magic jack. I know you said something about outlook express and yahoo, but you do not need to have that open. All you need (if you are attached to a computer) is your computer running, magicjack running on your desktop, and an internet connection. I hope this helps you.

My computer doesn't recognice the MagicJack

Magic Jack reserves the first empty drive letter number after your hard drive letters. The problem is that it cannot share this drive letter with a flash drive -- in that when Magic Jack is out, some newer flash drives (such as 4GB Kingstone DataTraveller) cannot claim the same letter, and therefore the flash drive does not work. The reverse is true also in some cases too. if you plug in an older flash drive that uses say letter G when G had been previously claimed by Magic Jack, and you click on the Magic Jack icon (tha references G at this time) the Majic Jack stops working on that PC for good. This seems to have come up recently (late June 2009) withthe Magic Jack's new software update. The annoying beeps also have been introduced with this update. Somthing enters digits into Magic Jackphone number dialing buffer that looks like a memory leak from another part of the computer RAM due to poorly written drivers or invalid shared interrupts or DMA regions.
