A 5" wide dark band in the middle of a Samsung Smart Series 7 TV screen could be caused by several issues. Here are a few potential causes and solutions:
Faulty LCD Panel: If the LCD panel is damaged, it may cause a dark band in the middle of the screen. Unfortunately, a damaged LCD panel usually requires a professional repair or replacement, which can be expensive.
Loose or Damaged Connection: A loose or damaged connection between the TV's internal components could cause a dark band on the screen. Check all of the cables and connections between the TV and any external devices to ensure they are properly connected and undamaged.
Picture Settings: The dark band could be caused by the TV's picture settings. Try adjusting the picture settings to see if it improves the image. For example, you could try adjusting the brightness, contrast, or sharpness.
Software Update: A software issue could cause a dark band on the screen. Check if there is a software update available for your TV and install it if necessary.
Magnetic Interference: If there is a strong magnetic field near the TV, it could cause a dark band on the screen. Try moving any magnets or magnetic devices away from the TV to see if it improves the image.
If none of these solutions work, it may be best to contact a professional TV repair technician who can diagnose and fix the issue. They can ensure that the repair is done correctly and safely, and can help prevent further damage to the TV.
Hate to tell you this but it sounds like your picture module is going bad. The bluish tint tells me it is leaking to the outside. Some problems with the LCD picture module can be fixed but I never had to fix one. Might check out some videos on repairing LCD picture tubes on YouTube.

You may have a burnt out blacklight... You can fix it easy by having the tv on while it’s a bright picture than quickly unplugging it... or it would be best to get a new TV.
Hi, I have a Sony Grand Wega LCD Projection TV that has a blotted gray streak across the front of the screen. I only use a damp cloth to clean the window and that doesn't seem to help. It really shows up on light pictures and is unnoticed when the picture is a little darker. What can I do to fix this problem???
Yes, if this TV has a bulb it is likely to be the bulb.
I am not familiar with this exact model, but other LCD Projection TV will show dim picture after some time. Expected life of the lamps is about 2yrs. After 2yrs the picture will become dim. After 5yrs I am suprised it is even working.
Dirt doesn't cause this problem unless your are a smoker or have the unit "literally" outside. DO NOT try to clean it or let someone tell you to do it because it will cause more problems than it fixes.
Most PS2 games are dark and auto brightness controls will casue your LCD tv to brighten up automatically in response the dark video coming from PS2 games. I suggest you get into the menu settings of your TV and find a setting that will shut off the auto picture controls.
