My turn wheel, is very tight, doesn't sew good When I try to sew, I have to guide my material, the wheel is so tight

You didn't tell us what machine you have, but if it's an older mechanical machine, it's probably seizing due to old oil that has dried out. Resist the temptation to try to run the machine until the problem is taken care of properly. You could damage the motor.

What would cause a Bernina 830 Record to be sluggish and labored at low speed but run beautifully at high speed? Thank you.

Your beloved Bernina 830 Record needs a good cleaning and oiling. The old oil has solidified and is beginning to seize the machine. Continued use may burn out the motor. Also, other parts will begin to falter, ie the stitch selectors, the feed dogs, the needlebar... These old machines are great but they do require TLC to keep them happily purring.

Oops. Previous question not detailed enough. Where do I oil my PenCrest sewing machine?

PenCrest is an older mechanical machine. The following may be helpful, even if your machine is not sluggish or stalling, it still needs frequent lube to keep it working smoothly and prevent damage to the motor.

I removed the hand wheel cover on my Bernina 1001 because the wheel was too tight and now I cant get it to do anything...sew, wind bobbin. Help

With the wheel on you will have a 3 pronged washer, make sure that the screw on the stop motion wheel is unscrewed all the way, put the stop motion wheel back on ans tighten it hand tight only, tighten the screw in the stop motion and see if the stop motion frees off and then tightens again so the machine will work, if it does not take the stop motion wheel of again and move the 3 pronged washer in a different position and put the stop motion wheel back on again

I have an Elnita 250 there is a problem with the wheel, when turning it it does not operate the needle up and down?

Make sure the stop motion wheel is tight, if it will not tighten you will need to undo the stop motion wheel, undo the screw that is in the stop motion wheel, unscrew the stop motion wheel all the way off and you will see a three pronged washer, take the washer off and put it in a different position, put the stop motion wheel back on and tighten to finger tight, screw the screw back up in the stop motion wheel, a final turn one the the stop motion wheel to tighten then test, if it does not work put the three pronged washer in a different position even upside dowm.

Needle centering wheel is stuck tight and cannot

On these machines, the shaft UNDER the centering wheel fits into a bushing, and this is what normally rotates. The wheel is fixed to the shaft. Penetrating oil needs to be placed UNDER the centering wheel but above the bushing. We solved this problem on two machines by saturating dental floss (the kind used to clean braces) with penetrating oil. Insert the floss UNDER the plastic wheel around the shaft, with the two ends sticking out the slot for the centering wheel. Then cycle the floss in and out of the area around the shaft. Let it soak and repeat. It takes some time, but it worked, and did not require disassembly of the machine. Greased Lightning also was used. Kithen grippers help with rotating the wheel.
