How do you remove the child lock?

Probably in child safe mode.
Should explain how to remove the child lock in your user manual.

It looks like from the "Home" Screem press "Information Desk" then "Useful Information" then "Child Lock" then "Set The Lock"

Basically you just hold down the STOP / CLEAR button for a few seconds until the oven beeps and the "L" on the display disappears. This indicates that the CHILD LOCK is disengaged.

On a friend's Samsung (she didn't tell me her model number either), you lock the keypad by pressing "0" and then "2". Press the same sequence to unlock the pad. Maybe this will work on her model.

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

To set the child lock.
Touch and hold
ENTER/START
pad more than 3
seconds. CHILD
LOCK ON will
appear in the display
window with two
beeps.

To cancel the child
lock.

There is a Child Safety lock-out feature on some microwave ovens. This enables the user to lock the keypad to prevent children from playing with the control panel. The model number you have this question posted under has this feature enabled/disabled by pressing and holding the "CLEAR/OFF" button for 3 seconds. However, the display reads "LOC" when the feature is activated. I suspect your model number is different because of the display indication you are receiving. Review your owner/operator manual for how to disable the child lock feature. If you no longer have the owner's manual, or if you still have questions, please post back with your BRAND NAME and MODEL NUMBER, so that I may be able to provide you with better assistance. I hope this helps you.

If the model number you have this question posted under is correct, to cancel the child lock safety feature all you need to do is press and hold the zero "0" button for at least 4 seconds. The "LOCKED" indication will go away and you should hear two beeps. The instructions are listed on page 11 of the owner's manual. If you no longer have a manual, you can download or print a copy for FREE at managemyhome.com. Just type in your model number under the "Manuals" link.
