Did you clean the exhaust duct from end to end?
Some of these have a two-belt system where the second belt turns a fan blade that resides in a plastic housing beneath the drum... the pulley will come loose and fall off sometimes which can cause this error... Help Me Find My Model Number RepairClinic com

SOURCE: my whirlpool cabrio dryer will not turn on and the

I'm trying to replace the motor from my Whirlpool Cabrio (WED6400SW1) dryer. The motor is impossible to remove from the blower. I can't break the motor away without stripping the plastic blower nut that connects to the two. What do you recommend I do at this point. I'm thinking that I should try to seperate the two by cutting the plastic connection and order a new blower fan.

There are two thermistors (thermal sensors) in this dryer; one is the outlet thermistor located on the blower housing and the other is the inlet thermistor located on the heating element housing as an integral part of the high-limit thermostat.

jahn27_197.jpg

These thermistors are negative coefficient type and monitors the dryer temperature on their locations according to their resistance which varies inversely with the temperature. The resistance drops as the temperature rises and rises as temperature drops.

One or both of the thermistors has an open connection or high resistance which makes the electronic control board thinks that the dryer temperature is low no matter how high it is. The electronic control board then doesn't cycle the heater relay and continue to turn on the heating element. The dryer temperature continues to rise and this blows the thermal fuse.

Make sure the thermistors are connected snugly. Remember that loose or open connection means high (infinite) resistance which makes the electronic control thinks of low dryer temperature. Measure the resistance of each thermistor then refer to the tables below. Replace the thermistor if the resistance reading doesn't comply with the table.

SOURCE: My Whirlpool front load cabrio

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

AF means air flow and this error indicates that dryer air flow is restricted. Run the dryer for 5-10 minutes. Hold your hand under the outside exhaust hood to check air movement. If the air movement is less than a hair dryer on high speed, clean the lint from the entire length of the system and exhaust hood, also check the outside exhaust duct. If the problem is still there after doing all this then recommended repair will be to use warranty as opening this unit voids warranty. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

We have a Whirlpool Cabrio Dryer The check vent light keeps coming on after a few minutes we clean the vent lint insert but it still happens

Look for a blockage in the hose itself and where the dryer hose connects to the wall vent. That's where you'll find a large amount of lint causing your problem.

Why would check vent light go on after replacing sensor and computer

Is the dryer vent blocked with lint? If there is a restriction in air flow in the vent system, the dryer will stop. Make sure the vent path is completely clean even in the wall where the vent hose connects.

Whirlpool cabrio dryer is running, all ducts and traps are clean but no exhaust coming out of vent.

Is the fan running. Is it direct drive or belt driven.

If it's not running, you may have to replace the motor or the fan belt.

No air coming out of the vent of two month old Cabrio.

Sounds like the vent is blocked. Pull the dryer away from the wall, remove the vent tube, and check the air passage from the rear of the machine.

AF flashing on our Whirpool Cabrio Dryer.

Hi Terry,

AF flashes if a restricted airflow condition exists. Check to make sure the lint screen is clean, the door seal is in place and the vent is not
obstructed.
I suspect it's the vent connecting the dryer to the wall or the vent pipe in the wall to the outside. Without moving your dryer, look behind it to see if the flex duct is crushed or pinched. If it is, it's pinching off your air flow, too. Pull the dryer out straighten or replace the hose (you can get vent hose at Home Depot, Lowes or Ace Hardware) then slide the dryer back being careful to keep it about 8" from the wall (8" is the recommended distance from the back of the dryer to the wall, btw).
If the flex vent is NOT pinched off, then you should call a chimney sweep to come out and clean the vent pipe that's in the wall.

*Note---> If you want to test this diagnosis to verify it, just disconnect the flex hose from the wall and run a load of clothes. The error code should not reappear.

Cabrio Dryer keeps blowing Air Flow fuse?

Hello, yes it is possible that the thermal fuse has gone again. Before attempting any repair yourself please unplug the dryer. The thermal fuse is located in the rear of the dryer the service panel would have to be removed. it is on the hot air duct has 2 wires going to it white in colour about 1 1\2 ' s long and 1\4 " wide. Also locate wear the vent is outside and make sure you have good air flow. good luck
