Capacitor blew apart separating the two connector wires from the intact motor start capacitor and the pieces of the other. Which terminals connect from the new capacitor to the existing? There are two identical motor start capacitors and two others in the box.

You will need a rotary converter for this, or a single phase motor. A three phase motor absolutely cannot be made to run on single phase otherwise.

1 phase L1 should be constant to the motor usually the black wire. then on L2 phase(usually off a contactor that is energized by some switch or device. power is sent through to your run wire directly off L2, but then a jumper from L2 to the start capacitor to one side then off the other side of the capacitor connects your start wire(usually orange or purple). Read the motor wire diagram to see what color your motor maker has designated for common start and run.

OK ONE Cap, goes in the wire with the centrifugal switch in it, the other goes as in the diagram.
