I think you dropped the pen on its tip and broke the little ferrite sensing core. You can try to repair it by gluing the core back together - it worked for me. For detailed instructions on how to do it, go here:

or you can try to swap the core for the eraser and the tip (more involved - you would need to be very good with a soldering iron to attempt this). Either way - it's unfortunate that the pen is so fragile and that the user manual doesn't really warn you of this.

Mabye you should buy a new pen. I had the exact same problem, but I bought a new pen and it worked perfectly. Call first and explain your problem to the website, and they should give you a new pen for free because of warrenty. Go to the WACOM website and look for the phone number in the top-right corner. That is all except to wait for your new pen that should arrive in two or three days tops.

Your tablet is set under the handwriting setting. Go to system preferences and select ink under hardware. Then turn off handwriting recognition.
