Re: wireless connection lost
If you don't have the manual go to the dlink website and download it. There has to be a way to perform a complete reset to return it to a default condition. You will then have a default password so you can get to the router from a wired connection and set up a new network key.

You can reset you router to it's factory default settings:
Have you somehow lost your D-Link router's password? Perhaps the easiest way to gain access to your router's admin interface is by restoring it to the default factory settings, however, if that is not possible, try method number two via the master password. If you lost your WEP password, visit this post for more info - Recover Lost WEP Wireless Network Password Key.
hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa!
Basically you don't need a CD if you want to change the password or put a password on the network all you need to do is to access the Wireless Settings Page of the Router and put or change the Network Key. To access your router you need a working computer connected to the router then open a Browser then type 192.168.0.1. the Username is admin and the password is blank. Go the the Wireless Settings Page and under Wireless Security Mode you can change the Security Mode to either WEP, WPA or WPA2 then input your desired password.
You need to configure your router. For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Click on WAN settings and set those settings as your internet service provider settings. Enable DHCP if you want to get ip from router. Clickon
wireless settings enable wireless then enable WEP Security then add WEP
code .It isyour password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and
restart router. Then you can connect your wi fi network with that code. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

I'm not exactly sure as to give you the right answere as i dont have enough info on laptop and wireless modem. But in windows on your laptop ,look for SEACH FOR WIRELESS NETWORKS. On your pc when you set up your router you should have put in a password. This password you should have to use when your laptop finds your network, its as simple as putting in the password and away you go.If in doubt, contack dlink (usually toll free number) and give them a call. But remember to write things down as you might find yourself having to do it again (lost files, power outage.etc) so might be a good idea to keep a record. good luck JLS
Type 192.168.0.1 (you can type the router address if you have changed) and enter on browser's addressbar. Router's interface will appear. Click on SETUP and Click on the WIRELESS SETTINGS at left side. on the page you will see the option of WIRELESS SECURITY by drop down menu you can choose the Security mode that you wish. here is the link for the emulator http://support.dlink.com/emulators/wbr1310_revB/wireless.htm
Please post your question if you need further assistance Good Luck
