We just had 2 56inch Antigua Hampton Bay fans with 5 Leaf blades installed. The air flow is poor. We have 15 ft. cathedral ceiling on an angle. A 3 ft. extension rod was used on each fan.

We need to get better air flow on these 2 ceiling fans. Are there any adjustments that can be made on fan to get better air flow, or do we need to use a longer extension rod. We checked the direction on the both fans they are going clockwise. Do you think getting longer extension rods may improve the air flow?

The fans are going clockwise. We have same fan in our bedroom our ceilings are 8ft. and the air flow is great. Do you think if we get a longer extension rod in the family room, do you think the air flow will improve?

Ceiling fans have a direction switch in the cover just above the fan motor
it is very possible that during the installation this switch was moved to the wrong direction for the fans to blow down
get a good step ladder and with the fan off check the fan switch and move it to a new position
there should be a small tag saying rev/fwd or up/down
when looking up at the fan , it should be rotating clockwise

Testimonial: "The fans are rotating clockwise, but the air flow is not so good. We have the same fan in our bedroom but our ceilings are only 8ft. & it works fine. Do you think if we get a longer extension for the family room will it work better?"

try bringing the fans to a height of 9 ft above the floor and see if that fixes the problem

Contact "King of Fans" (kingoffans.com) in Ft. Lauderdale at 800-330-3267. They made or make Hampton Bay fans. I just ordered an arm for mine. Have your UPC number handy.

Poor air movement

mcdevito75 here, You say the fans are recessed into the ceiling are the fan blades blowing the air into this recess instead of outward. Also if your porch is an open porch the fans are competeing with the outside air and temerature. The only other thig to try is to lower thefans another foot.

Fan is rocking back and forth when on any speed. what can I do to keep is steady?

You need to balance the fan. This is partly due to the blades not being quite at correct angles around the fan as the screws allow some movement and the weight of the blades. Balancing these can be really frustrating with the trial and error method.

If the wieght if each blade is not the same this can also cause problems. Adjsut weight for test by putting heavy rubber bands around suspectect light blades as a test.

I have had a Hampton Bay Antigua Plus 56'' ceiling fan for about four years now. The blades have sagged so much that now I cannot even put the globe over the lights. I only want to know if there is any way...

Try not to take that person serious. I would tighten the screws on the brackets around the fan. Only a phillips screw driver needed for this task. The blades on mine are hardened wood.lol.
However, the problem I have is with finding a replacement bracket:
ST306-002-22
I found that Hampton Bay is a wholly owned subsidiary of Home Depot (look it up). That being said, I contacted Home Depot and the associate had no protocol in getting me in a better direction.
The problem I have is the lacking of integrity shown by Home Depot in this particular situation. I knew nothing about Hampton Bay ceiling fans being that of a subsidiary onto Home Depot. I am a potential customer to the Depot but, will attempt to research all methods possible to save myself an unnecessary trip to flirt with possibility of a non-fitting universal bracket. BALLS!!!

I want to hang the fan on a cathedral ceiling with a steep slope. Two questions, is the angle of the slope measured from vertical or horizontal, and does anyone make a kit for my fan to hang because the the...

The slope is measured off the horizontal plane. A 45 degree slope would rise 12 inches for every 12 inches of horizontal travel in this example. If the slope is too great try checking kits made by Fanimation. The Fanimation SCK52 - 52 Degree Ceiling Slope Ceiling Fan Kit will go up to a 52 degree angle ceiling and will fit most downrods. The hampton bay fans are very popular and should work just fine with this kit.

Fan not blowing air.

theres a small toggle switch on the fan

that switch is to change direction on the way the fan is blowing

one direction for downward blowing

the other direction is for upward blowing

depends on the area you have to determine which is the best, but i doubt area restriction will hamper force air blowing, air will flow regardless, the area might be big so you dont feel it.

as being living in the attic, HOT AIR rises, so you might want to invest in some installation for the ceiling, because whent he sun hit the roof, it will create an oven effect, in your living area. the hot air is always present, you should have a ventilation fan blowing the hot air out, like thru a small window, the more hot air you blow out, the better.

not sure if this make sense. not sure how big the room is, as FANs are NOISY by nature.

Ceiling fan power

It sounds like the fan motor has blown out. Is this an old fan? The motors do burn out every 5-10 years, depending on the brand and quality of motor.
