Without remote control you can't change its mode to AV. Buy one "Atlas OCAP 5-device remote control; by Universal Electronics. Emerson is listed to very short numbers of universal remotes, and this is one amoung them. The codes will be with the attached manual, and you can choose if from it. OK.

We have an emerson tv and the sensor for the remote has gone out. how do you change them and how much does it cost?

There are alot of websites that offer a replacement remote for the ewf2703 tv. Here are the links. Your other option is to purchase a universal remote which will come with the codes to use the remote with your tv. If you have any other questions let me know. Can't find the input/video channel for my Emerson TV

universal remotes are tricky, if you have the pamphlet, often times there are several codes for each brand. you have to try all the emerson codes for your universal even tho the power, volume and channel functions may work with several emerson codes, some of these specialized buttons (like input) may only work on your TV with one specific code.

also, if there are any unlabeled buttons on the universal try them with each new emerson code.

How to change the input

First, the bad news: Unfortunately, you are correct - the only button to change inputs is on the remote, which you no longer have.

Now, the good news: You can buy a universal remote, set it for your TV model, and have control of your inputs again. The first link below is for the URC R6, which is available at any Walmart for about 20 bucks. You can set it up for an Emerson TV, no problem. Here's the link for it:
