What size rechargeable batteries for the 6 AA's in the RL525? 1.2V? MA size?

Most lithium small radio batteries are 3.6 volts. If AA or AAA batteries, multiply by 1.5 volts. 4 batteries = 1.5 * 4 = 6 volts MAXIMUM. Rechargeable batteries are 1.2 volts. Your charger would be a much higher voltage because it takes power to "push" the charge into a battery. You didn't say, so I am assuming you want to operate the radio with a wall charger. I've done this by soldering the wires to the battery contacts. You need a higher voltage than 3.6 volts, but milliamps is more important. You need enough milli amps to get the radio to transmit. Too much and it frys, literally. So, this is all on you to decide if the risk is worth it. I use a 5-6 volt power supply set on no more than 1 amp (800 ma is my favorite size) 1 amp = 1000 ma. Your camera uses 2 AA batteries, but if you use Alkaline batteries they will drain very fast. You are better off buying rechargeable batteries as you can recharge them several hundred times, cheaper than Duracell or Energizer Alkaline batteries in the long run. If you buy rechargeable batteries make sure you get a high mA capacity the higher the mA which stands for Milliamp Per Hour the longer the battery will last in terms of a charge.

Not sure the A3300 has two AA sized batteries, but if it had:
Sure your batteries are still tip top?
Try two new AA sized NiMH rechargeable batteries or if you have some new alkaline batteries, put them in. the alkaline batteries won't last long, but it it could hint if the camera is still working and worth buying new rechargeables.
AA manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries cannot be used with this camera.
But even if it has one battery, check the battery.

we are talking mA not amps.....6 x 1.5volt batteries give you 9 volts

Do you have a meter to check the diodes?

Yes. You can use either rechargeable (NiMH) batteries or disposable (alkaline and lithium) batteries.

Since your camera is still under warranty, the best thing you can do is have Kodak should fix it. If your camera is out of warranty, or if Kodak refuses to repair it for free, the one thing you can try is to try resetting the camera.

Kodak is also of the opinion that lens errors also occur when you use batteries not recommended by Kodak.

I recently chatted with a kodak specialist about this issue and he recommends changing your batteries to NiMh rechargeable batteries. These are the batteries that the camera is designed to use and using other types - like alkalines, can often cause the lens error to occur. If that doesn't work, then the camera indeed does need repair.

Metz 45-40 consist of 6 nos of NiCd - AA size batteries connected in series. These battery packs can be rechanged by resoldering new set of AA size rechargable Nicd battries. Care should be taken not to short circuit the cells when disassembling and assembling the cells. Keep a note (sketch) of the connections of the cells, specially the longer connecting metal strip and the polarities of cells. re-solder the new set of AA size NiCd Batteries. If the old wires were corroded, use new wires' If the connecting terminals also corroded' clean it. If it is severely corroded, get it plated prior to fixing for better performance.. There is an charging indicating lamp which also control the charging current of the batteries. check its connections and solder it if required. I wish you got the answer for your problem.

i have used Digipower AA rechargable and Everready AA rechargable batteries without a problem lasting a long time in this model.

you may have a problem with the battery charger itself.

batteries i am using are rated at 2400-2500 ma

in the menu button, select shooting menu - set up - scroll all the way down to battery type, select the battery type you are using and press ok in the center of the button.

you can use the coolpix nimh selection for other rechargable brands.
