First iwas having a windows xp now i had installed a windows vistaultimate.
the windows vista is telling that u r sound progrraming is been used by other program and sound is not able to play plz help me
I had a mac pro and when i put my symphony card next to my radeon graphics card it would install vista and work fine but I had to tell it to ignore the card when it first started up. After that it ignored the symphony card and I had no problems.
If for some reason you put it in another pcie slot windows will probably never install. Hope that helps

You are download grading your Operating System to XP from Vista. Drivers for Vista and XP are diferent.
You can download the Audio drivers for XP from Dell Support Site for your laptop.
Check your "Device Manager" and uninstall the previous drivers and reinstall the XP Audio drivers downloaded from Dell Site.
You might need to use the "Floppy" version of the Driver upon install (if you know what the chipsets are. Most likely it's Intel and you can slip stream the driver files into a new XP CD.
However if a partition is formated from Vista and you attempt to install XP over it without formatting it, crash is almost certain - XP and Vista have different versions of NTFS.
If you want both XP and Vista on the same machine, ALWAYS install the older one first! i.e. XP first. And create only 1 partition in XP where you intend to install on.
Then install Vista afterwards with Vista created partition.
1.Vista is considered an upgrade, compared to Windows XP. Therefore, Vista is not just going to let you install over it.
2.You have to get your Windows XP drivers back.

But you have to care for some tricks.
1. Install your XP on different partion.
