My ilo dvd recorder will come on but thats i on the front its shows the clock and a p

I have a DVDRo4 model so they may not be the same. I connect 3 wire RCA cables to the DVDR output and to TV 3wire RCA input. I set the TV chan to Aux. I set the DVDR souce button to disc. Hope this works on you unit 05

Push the source button on ilo Remote.The front RCA plugs AV1 the rear is AV2 of ilo.
If you still don't see dvd you are not wired correctly.

If you hook up using the tuner in ILO you will lose digital signal to the HDTV (it will still go thru but only as analog) so... Use a splitter from the antenna coax to the "antenna in", then you can hook Ilo output to the tv inputs. You can watch/record analog through the ILO and still switch back digital non recording on HDTV thru its own separate tuner. Hook up the dvd player outputs to the ILO inputs(use the front ones is easiest) and then select SOURCE, pick corresponding inputs and enter. You can watch/record from other dvds that way but not from copyrighted ones, It will say protected content. I would only hook up dvd player temporarily to record from dvd player, then to watch dvd's just hook it up to HDTV. If you can select progressive scan on player to HD it might be even better picture but I don't have HDTV so I'm not sure how that works. To reset the recorder to factory defaults as if it was just removed from the box - leave the recorder on then press and hold the channel up and down buttons at the same time until it says "Bye" on the display. When it shows the clock it is off - wait a few seconds then turn it back on - you should see the initial setup asking you to choose a language.

Note: You may have to flip down part of the front panel to reveal the channel buttons.

OR

to return DVD player to origional setings, is to go in to the menu and find the factory reset option the will return the setings back to fresh from the factory.

Does the disc still play in other dvd player? My ILO has always been picky to play rentals so I just have a cheap COBY player hooked up to front inputs of my ILO. I use it to watch the dvds, only use the Ilo to record. Saves wear and tear on my ILO but cannot find a universal remote to operate them both and my tv. If it still records okay thats what I would do, just watch the discs in a secondary unit. Sounds like time to start shopping for new recorder.

1 Press Setup to enter the setup menu.
2 Press the up/down keys to select GENERAL, press enter, Use up/down keys to selet clock setting. press enter.
3 Move to the field to be edited using the up/down keys
4 use up/down keys to increase or decrease the value of the field.
5 To exit a field using the right/left keys
6 Press return to exit the clock settings menu.
Select time format from the menu and press the right arrow key. Use the up.down key to pick hour mode(12hr or 24 hr).

Clock always stays on...the ZU even counts the seconds.

I have ILO dvd ro5/zu Burner walmart cheapy and I read Capacitors for power supply go bad and leak there are 2 (fuhjyyu 2200uf 10volt) also it runs very very hot so I put in an old computer fan to cool it down works great now, problems with clock flashing and humming noise while recording and playing back. It still has a little hum but other than that it works great 3-4 years old over 150 dvd's burned.
