About a month ago my Phillips 55" widescreen projection TV started to have picture problems. On the left side of the picture it looked like the colors were spinning, then after a while the picture just went out. But, I still had sound. Then the sound went out completely and now when I try to turn the TV on using the on/off button on the TV, it makes a sound like it's coming on then the thing switchs off entirely...... nothing. Do I have several things that crashed all at once???

I have a philips magnavox and had two problems that I recently fixed using kits from www.TvRepairKits.com. I can't say enough about their kits and help. Without them I would have never been able to fix my TV set myself.

The first problem I had was the TV was looking 3D. After doing some homework I found out that this is a convergence problem. I bought a kit, followed the instructions, and to my amazement fixed it myself.

After building my confidence with the 1st repair I decided to get their CRT fluid kit. This kit fixes the dull video, red video, or bright/halo looking video. If you have a magmavox set that is more than 5 years old your tv has this problem already. It happens on every set. As before I bought the kit, followed the instructions, and now my video looks factory new. Once again I wanted to say thanks to the team at Tv Repair Kits for putting together kits that the average joe can use.

Phillips 55" rear projection HD ready --power button lights up, but no picture or sound--just a clicking noise. Also, we can no longer adjust the blue convergence. The adjustment screen comes up, but we...

Got our tv in 2004 and we're having the exact same problem. When the blue convergence started going a couple months ago my husband researched the heck out of it and decided it would cost less to just replace the tv with a newer, nicer model rather than repair it. And now, as of last night, we are having the same power issue where the power button goes on, but won't stay on. It just clicks on and off and no sound or picture. Did you ever get yours fixed, or did you end up replacing?

Phillips 55 Inch Widescreen HD TV, convergence repair, the red is off. The picture is not good. Can I fix this problem my self, and around how much will it be?

I'm assuming you mean the red light or lamp? provided you know the make and model of the TV, you can no doubt find a replacement bulb for it online.

Do a search or contact the manufacturer to see what they can do, but you should be able to do it yourself.

55'' rear projection Phillips (dptv335) Red Tint in 4:3 area

Sounds like your fluid in the CRT's need replaced. I would recommend a servicer take care of that problem. The corrosion that ethylene glycol can do to components is vast if you spill it on any of the PC boards. ( You know it as Anti-freeze ). Play it safe---Make a Call.!

Screen missing

you will need the replacement screens. Phillips doesnt make them anylonger, they are exspensive. But you can get one by leaving a email at the following link with the model number of your set and what youre needing.

NO POWER, PICTURE, OR SOUND, power button flashes green 2-3 times

check the wires inside at the left lower region as you are looking at the rear. There are several circuit boards there that tend to loosen when moved. The cables are really ribbons like those used in computers.  I'd lioke to be more specific however I'm not entirely familiar with this model, just rear projection tvs in general.

Mitsu HD1080

There is a possibility that the problem lies on the "Doubler" circuit board with this set, especially if the darkness looks like a smear in the picture during bright scenes like a hockey game.
