Question about Sony PlayStation 2 Slimline Console

Doesnt read disks...just goes to browser

When i turn on my system it just goes straight to the browser menu and it will only read my memory cards...normally when i turn it on, i hear a noise from the driver because the disk is being read....now, nothing

Is that the only disc you seem to be having the problem with?? If so try getting the disc repair kit and using that. I had the same problem with mine but it was only some of the discs. The ps2 slim can be very sensitive and even the slightest defect in a disc will cause it not to recognize there is even a disc there.

take a qtip and rubbing alchol and clean the eye make sure the qtip is not soaked when you clean the eye just dampen it

Sounds like it is having problems reading the discs. Most likely just a dirty lens that is used to read the data off the disk. I would recommend purchasing a Wii Lens Cleaning Kit (which is also available at many retailers such as GameStop, WalMart and Best Buy) and see if that makes the system run any better. Good luck!

Our C613 is not reading the memory card when it is turned on. It goes straight to built in memory which only holds 12 pictures. What do we need to do??
Pls. check that the "lever" on the memory card isn't set to black the reading of the card.

Go into Menu, Cam settings and AUTO or internal: Press OK for Internal.
NOTE if the cam. cannot read the card it will automaticly go over to internal memory.

try cleaning the laser lens with a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol (not dripping).
use the other end to gently dry it (twirl the q-tip).

or you can use a laser lens cleaner for video game systems.

Not recognizing disk
My PS2 always does that now. Just make sure it's reading the disc in the System Browser, and it'll play fine.

Wont read disk
that means that the disc is not compatible with the ps2 i mean that the containing of the disc can't be read on the ps2 so that's why it turns u to the main system configuration ....

It will turn on
sounds like you have a laser eye off track,or dirty one.try using a cleaning kit first this may solve your issue without having to do anything.if this doesnt solve it then please post again and i will walk you through what we need to look at
