Sony DHG-HDD500 doesn't record Is this fixable?

Sony DHG-HDD500 is programmed to record and has until 3 days ago. Now it switches to the proper channel at the proper time, but doesn't record and the program is resets to record the following week. What is the problem? Is it fixable? Tried reprogramming with same result.

SOURCE: DHG-HDD250 problems when recording

When I'm watching a recording program and recording a program I can't fast forward, pause, stop nothing works until the program that is recording stops.
I reset the machine, but it did not help.

SOURCE: lack of responce of DHG-HDD250 to command when recording scheduled program

Restore unit to factory defaults. Use the remote control, go to MENU, SCREEN, enter 9012, then select factory defaults.

Sometimes this problem happens to me when strong winds blow my antenna out of the orientation. Please adjust the antenna and see if it helps.

Yes, you can. There are different ways of going about it. There's an ongoing thread in the AVS Forum specifically with these Sony DHG units, now that the TV Guide System (ROVI) has been discontinued - which these Sony units relied on the Guide data to set the clock:

I own 3 of these. Two of them have been hooked up for over 3 years and worked perfectly until yesterday. All of a sudden, the remote wouldn't work and I couldn't turn the unit off with the power button. ...
If you are using these DVRs over the air only, with 1.2.06 installed you have to run the G* Test in the 9012 menu, to get the digital data going, after removing power. That is why your clocks are --:--. I highly recommend that you update the firmware in both of these units to 1.2.21, to avoid having to mess with the G* Test.

The TV Guide On Screen guide will not appear if you connect the unit to your television using composite or S-Video cables and the progressive scan option is selected.

My remote doesn't work when recording.
I have the same problem with my dvr. I went to tech support at sony. The tech spent a lot of time researching the problem. I had to leave so I told him to email me when he had some information. It's been 3 days now and I havent heard from him yet.
