Open right door and look on top there should be a littl lever there check carefully to see if there is a paper crumbled inside.
remove tray and look where paper feeds out.
Most MFC models I know, have a right door that you have to open in case of a paper jam and to replace the drum unit.
If not you may have to take out the fuser unit and look in there, which is where I'm betting it is.
You can find a service manual online to download for a small fee.
Beats the price of a tech coming out for repairs and it gives all error codes and a step on how to solve them and which part is likely to have caused it.
You can find it for around $15 or less
good luck

Thanks... but this model does not really have a right door.
I have gone over the feed path pretty well and can't find any snagged
paper or debris. It mest have hung up mid-cycle becase the copy head
seen through the glass seems stopped in the middle of the plate. Any
other ideas?? Thanks, Ron
