I had the same problem! You have to set your fax machine option to DRPD mode. Menu, to Fax setup, to DRPD mode, press ENTER, ENTER again, it should say waiting ring, you then have to call your fax line. Back to Fax Setup, Recieve Mode, press DRPD mode. This way your machine well distinguish a different ring for your fax.

My connection is via a parallel to parallel cable, and I am also having a similar problem. I'm reading that usb to usb cable is the only way it will properly function. good luck with it!

Eu tive o mesmo erro, e foi quando eu troquei o cartucho de toner. Deve ser um problema no fusível do cartucho, porque quando retirei o fusível e deixei sem o mesmo, a impressora voltou a funcionar normalmente. Agora estou providenciando um fusível novo para substituir.

Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the software. Perhaps there is an updated driver for your system since you first installed it, or maybe yours is simply corrupted. I would suggest removing and reinstalling will solve the problem - if, in fact, that is your problem -I've not heard of this happening before.
