You didn't indicate what model you are using but it could be several things.

If your coffee isn't ground fine enough your brewing time may be too short. Your double espresso shot should take between 18-26 seconds to brew. A single should take between 9-13 seconds to brew.

If you are getting the correct brew time, try a different coffee bean. Some coffee is roasted more that others and that could be the reason the color is light. Make sure you are using fresh beans too.

Make sure you are putting the correct amount of ground coffee into the porto filter and tamping it well. A porto filter that isn't full will not brew a good shot.

Not fine enough grind

This model grinder won't do espresso. There is a DIY mod available online that involves disassembling the machine, and recalibrating the burrs to produce a finer grind. I did it on mine, it was definitely better, but it's not going to get you to the coveted 30 second pull for your espresso. Search on Starbucks Barista Grinder Mod. It is a great grinder otherwise, very reliable.

Hi,

Make sure you not get any water in the grinder. If you not get any water in the grinder then it can be the micro switch that has to be replaced.

You can program the button for how much coffee you will have, press and hold the button, when you reach the level you want then release the button.

let me know if you get your machine to work.
Have a nice day
