That is the internal packaging they refer to, it should be a block of foam that is to be removed. You may have to take off the front cover to get to it.

Frigidaire model fftr1835vs styrofoam inside filter housing unit. Should it be there?

Not 100%certain to what styrofoam you are referring to but there is definitely styrofoam components inside the machine. The entire drain pan is made of styrofoam, I would not touch it.

Frigidaire window air condition unit

Hello,Lilo The styrofoam pack MUST stay in place. When in operation the air tempature is so cold the unit will condensate(create water)if not insluated.Your unit would LEAK all over the place. The blower fan is a PLASTIC composit and should not rust.

Is there supposed to be Styro Foam inside the ESA3089 AC unit?

I believe that the styrofoam is installed in the unit for shipping purposes. This is to prevent damage to the unit while in transit. Simply remove the foam and everything should work fine.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

What is internal packaging and what needs to stay? Frigidaire AC

It should be pretty apparent what comes off the unit. Pop the front cover by the filter and remove any styrofoam, paper and ties that might be there. Also make sure to remove anything that would prevent the coils from breathing properly. Its really simple, dont complicate it anymore than need be and worry yourself, everything that comes out is obvious.

Removed Styrofoam from A/C

Internal packagings, means in the box-- kits,--brackets--& foam packaging to prevent moving around during shipping or transportations ,and not the unit itself.

I makes a very loud noise

Had same problem with Ge AC. Unplug take out of window and remove all cover screws. Pull up on cover and pull cover off ac, Remove front cover as well there are a couple screws in the front. When looking at front of ac, hit the Styrofoam housing towards your left (towards control panel). Spin fan blade to make sure that it is clear. Plug in to double check. I put a couple quarters between the styrofoam and the metal housing, so it would not slide back. Also tape the styrofoam between the seams this helps with better cooling. Use some good tape nothing cheap. I used black duck tape. It took about 20 mins. The hardest part is re installing the AC.

Frigidaire Air Conditioner - FAC102P1A Compact II th

I spoke with the Frigaire support line 706 374-4432. They said that the large piece of styrofoam, that extends from side to side and nearly top to bottom, is part of the unit. It should not be removed.
