SOURCE: power supply repair
I just finished replacing all 25 or so of the electrolytic capacitors on the power supply board of an LTV 2701 AStar TV. When I got done, the tv came back to life and WORKS GREAT. Every last electrolytic was either leaking onto the board or puffed up or both. The main problem is that Astar designed the case so that no air can circulate over the board and the capacitors bake after a couple of years. If you don't do somethig to let the air circulate, you will be replacing them again in 2 more years. The board is pretty sturdy however and its fairly easy to replace them all with some copper desoldering braid and a 125 watt soldering gun. Just be sure to keep the polarities right on the electrolytics and make sure that they are the 105C variety. Good luck and remember to add some fans and cut some extra holes in the cage.
SOURCE: Can anyone tell me where
I'm not sure if this is the right one but it's worth a try, couldn't find any others at all and very few Astar links in general. Lots of outlets are listing Astar as discontinued.

Hope this helps,
