Hitachi 65SWX20B no picture/sound, 4 out of 5 green LEDs on, red LEDs on, green B+ LED is off. Pwr Relay clicks on, TV only turns on/off. IP02 location/How to check for 14-20V on terminal 4 of IP02?

Hi, tv turns on when I click on pwr button, red LED on button stays on & pwr relay clicks on, but no raster & no sound. 4 green LEDs/1 red LED stay on on Pwr Board, no blinking. Green LED D928 belonging to B+ circuit doesn't light up. Service manual says to check for 14-20V on terminal 4 of IP02, but no luck finding IP02 on diagrams or the PWR Brd. IP02 location? How to properly check for that voltage?

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Testimonial: "Hi Knight, there are 0 posts on that site about my tv set. By the way, sorry, 3 green leds on the supply board stay on, the 4th green one by the rear of the board (B+ circuit) is always off. I have a DVM and am an automotive mechanic, just don't have experience with appliances. But if you'd be so kind as to guide me thourgh the steps, I can perform any diagnostic tests you might require. I understand it's an old tv, but I really don't have the means to pay $300+ for repairs or a new set right now, so I would like to try and fix this one at home to save some $$$. Thanks, I appreciate your time!"

I have a hitachi 65SWX20B projection TV. When I power it on, I get no picture, no sound, and on one of the circuit boards, an LED (D967) blinks dimly (1/2 second on, 1/2 second off). A soft click is...

If the board with the blinking LED has larger than average parts on it, it is likely the main power supply and the clicking may be from a relay that is connecting and then, disconnecting the AC. With no video or audio, the main power supply has likely failed. Contact Hitachi service to ask how much the repair or replacement cost of the supply is. Make sure you have all involved model numbers handy; the one from your set with the mfr. date if present and if you can find an assembly number on the power supply itself. it may save you time and errors. These boards are often simply plugged into other assemblies with dissimilar plugs but if you decide to DIY, take some snapshots of the cabling to be on the safe side.

Hitachi 51UWX20B no sound, no picture, blinking green LED

The 392-150 is a higher current device then the 110---you can use either--this is normal in the hitachi sets---I usually replace both with 150's---check the led that does not light---should indicate which voltage source is bad---if it is one of the 2 voltages for the convergence ic's(one is a positive and the other a negative voltage) then the convergence Ic's may be bad---look for any discolored resistors around the ic's---one way to tell if it is a convergence ic is to de-solder both ic's and see if the set turns on(the convergence will be out the window) but if it comes on change both and do the alignments with the Hitachi remote. By the way----the led should have a location number printed on the top of the circuit board.

No picture or sound

Remove the rear panel. With the TV on you should see a red LED near the center of the PCB. There should also be 5 green leds, 3 to the left a 2 behind. If there is no red leds, check the fuses. If there are no green leds or maybe 1 or 2, disconect PSD5. It's a connector on the left side of the power board that connects to the audio board. It's the 3rd on fro the back. It's labled. With that disconected, turn on the set and look for the green leds. If all 5 light, the power supply is OK and you have a problem beyond that. If they don't all light you have a bad power supply.

Good Day, Butchilee,
Sounds like you have patience, hope your TV has some trace left. Hit recommends that you replace the originals with
STK-392-150's and the resistors. Replace said items with care then back down on the screen/ focus controls and gradually bring the screens up until you have pic, adjust focus. Go into customer menu and adjust color down, set brightness to 50%, contrast to 100%. Then go back and adjust the screens for proper, black/white, tracking. AND It's best to double check the soldering connections.
Good Luck, Big Irish.
