There is NO way that any clothing fell over the top of the tub into the sides of the washer, Emily. NO way. It's nearly impossible to believe that you even had enough clothing in there to spill water.
If you stuffed it enough to force clothing over the top of the tub, then the agitator could not possibly have functioned.
Just for the... impossibility... that clothing DID spill over the top, to get them out you would have to pull the dryer out and remove the back and/or the top. You'd see the spilled clothing immediately.
No - no, no, no. I CANNOT believe you overloaded it that much.
Check the screens at the point where your water hoses connect to the washer. These often get clogged with calcium. A simple vinegar soak or cleaning with a brush will often solve this problem
1. Turn off the water supply at the valve
2 Place a towel or bucket behind the washing machine to catch remaining water coming from the removed hose
3. See if the screen (often cone shaped) is inside the washer side or the hose itself.
I also have standing water after a wash cycle, but not immediately after. Given the history of very expensive repairs to this Kenmore HE4T washing machine, I suggest you do what I do, if the machine is still cleaning the clothes. Whatever cycle you use, try to be around when the machine finishes, so that you can turn off the water supply and remove the damp clothes to the dryer or clothes line. Turn on the water supply only when you want to use the machine. This works for me because I don't do many loads per week and my laundry area is right next to my kitchen. If it was in my basement, I'd have replaced it already with a top loading machine with mechanical not electronic controls.
i dont think you can but you can use the instructions below to operate you washing machine
Washing
machines may have different technology, but ultimately have the same
features and purposes. They all require the proper settings, soap,
water and clothes to wash. Yet, there are some things you should know
to properly use a washing machine. Follow these steps for success in
doing your laundry.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){
jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); });
});
Instructions
Read
thoroughly your washing machine owner's manual. These instructions are
designed for your particular washing machine. If you don't have an
owner's manual, read the button control labels on your washing machine
to get an idea of what they do.
Sort
your clothes. You should wash white or light-colored clothes together
and dark-colored clothes together. Clothes should be further sorted
according to their material. Heavy fabrics should be washed together
and light fabrics should be washed together.
Add
detergent to your washing machine. Follow the instructions on the
detergent box. The detergent should go on the bottom of the washing
machine unless your washing machine instruction manual specifies
otherwise.
Use
the special bleach or fabric softener dispensers for your particular
washing machine, if you are adding bleach or fabric softener.
Otherwise, follow the instructions on the bleach and fabric softener
packaging to find out how much and when you should add them to the
washing machine.
Load
your clothes loosely into the washing machine. Load the laundry as high
as your owner's manual specifies or to the top row of holes in the tub.
Close
the lid and set the controls of your washing machine according to what
you are washing. Use hot water for only white cottons. Use warm or cold
water for colored fabrics. Set the other controls according to the
weight and durability of your clothing.
Turn
on your washing machine. Allow it to work through all of the cycles and
turn itself off before you unload the washed laundry.
jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){
var $this = jQuery(this);
$this.find('img').error(function(){
jQuery(this).remove();
$this.remove();
});
});
Tips & Warnings
If you're going on vacation
or not going to be using your washing machine for awhile, turn off the
water faucets to your machine. It will relieve pressure on hoses and
valves and minimize any leakage, should it occur.
Do
not leave coins, nails, screws or anything else in the pockets of your
clothes when putting them in the washing machine. They could easily
cause damage or even puncture a hole in the drum.
Do not wash items that have been spotted or soaked with combustible substances. They could ignite or explode.
If
you haven't used your washing machine for at least two weeks, and
haven't used any hot water in your household, turn on your hot water
faucets. Allow them to run for several minutes to release any built up
hydrogen gas in your water heater.
To cure the F35 with the occasional SUD fault showing in the display the problem means that you need to unplug the machine from the mains and turn off the water supply. Then remove the lower cover, looking at it from the front where the glass door is, so you can see the water pump. On the water pump there is a round cover, turn it counter clockwise to get it loose, then the the filter will come out. You may find some interesting things in there! Clean it and screw it back on. Make sure the machine is powered off at the mains for 30 minutes in total to reset the computer and clear the fault display. Reconnect the mains power and turn the water supply back on. The machine should now operate correctly.
Take the drain hose off the back of the machine and drop it into a bucket , you will need to do this several times.(Take off any clips that stop it from being laid flat on the floor)
Once all of the water is out of the machine try powering it up again, if it lights up do a spin to get the clothes dry , leaving the outlet hose in the bucket.
If that works then once the machine is dry try turning on the water supply with the machine turned off , if water runs into the machine then you have a faulty fill valve.
If that is ok then check the pressure switch and Air Bell which sits on the back of the main drum you could have a soap ball in the Air Bell which will false out the machine and cause overfilling
If there is no power check the mains supply to the wall outlet then the plug top wiring and any fuse fitted inside the plug top
when you say water supply--As in the valves from the house? If so, and you still have it filling,call a priest!
if you have the unit turned off and it fills by itself overnight or during the day when it is not on, you would need a inlet valve.
Good Luck!
Door not shut Check that the door is properly shut.Faulty interlock A faulty interlock might not allow the door to shut properly. Find your door interlock here and replace, or contact a qualified repairer. No power Check the flex, plug wiring, fuse and mains supply for faults. Faulty on/off switch Check the power light if fitted. Replace your on/off switch. Water supply disconnected or off If a washer dryer cannot load water it cannot start a wash cycle. Check water supply.
