I need how to set a password on the wifi AC1200

Ac1200 I need to put in a password as everyone can Connect how do I do that

i need to lock my extender do i need too go back to admin in factory settings my wifi is not locked

Login to the router main interfacew normally by 192.168.0.1 the user and password are on a sticker on router somewhere and then there will be a tab in interface that will say Wireless the pass word can be changed via there. another alternative is if the router has WPS just press button on rpouter and on device find WPS connect in wifi settings and it will auto connect.

How to setup D-Link router to use both bands. Use to be able to select both. I can't set my device to use the 5 ghz one. The devices do recognize the presence of both but won't connect the 5 GHZ one.

Sounds like the connection profile on your device may be corrupted.
The easiest fix for that is make a change to the network names. And verify the passwords and save. And verify the encryption type. Then connect to the new network name and it should ask for the password instead of "Can't Connect". If it fails, take the encryption down a level to WPA2. Some devices still work on that. Other than that do the factory reset back to defaults and setup like when it was new. They always like that.

It is not possible to connect your PC to 5 GHz network. Its wireless card has no capability for 5 GHz band. See this answer for similar question:

You can buy additional Wi-Fi adapter supporting 802.11a/b/g/n or 802.11ac standard.

Is either an N router or AC wifi router compatible with a Gateway NV54 laptop running Windows 7? My old G router is dead & need to buy new one.

Linksys is a good router that will automatically switch based on your devices. They run about $150. Is that out of your range?

I need a charger for my Panasonic Panabrator II. I have an Insignia AC adaptor model NS-AC1200. Have set it on #5 & plugged it in overnight but battery indicator is red. What can I do?

Double check your connections Make sure it is actually charging. Could be charging adaptor is bad? Are you sure polarity is right? Do you have a volt meter so you can measure the output voltage? or a way to use a bulb at the right voltage to see if it's actually working?

Linksys ac1200 is cutting my internet speed down

Power-off & power-on the router, to reset it.
Otherwise, the router is capable of 1 Gigabit (1000 Megabit) throughput, so it should _not_ be the "bottleneck" (unless you are paying your Internet Service Provider for speeds faster than that!!!)

Move closer to your router or try using a wired connection instead of wireless. If you need it to be wireless, then try changing the router to one with a stronger signal (a specification of AC1200 on the router should work well).
