I've fixed two laptops using this free tutorial
Both of them still work, a year after the fix. No freezeups whatsoever. The fix requires quite a bit of explanations, so just follow the link.

I came into possession of a nx 6310 that my company disposed from inventory due to a display issue. The problem that is described here is very similar to the display issue this machine has. When the LCD screen is moved out of the 'sweet spot' it will lock up, or start to fail to display, the screen itself will go non responsive. If the monitor is moved just a little, it may go back to displaying properly. I believe that it may be a connection issue between the system board and the lcd but I am not sure. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem, with the same laptop
Sometime it freez, stop working (no mouse, music which is playing stops), then if I press gently with one finger the plastic between keyboard and touchpad, it keeps going, not crashing any application at all. Not a software problem, since I have it on Windows, Ubuntu, and with a live CD too.
If it can help, lately the internal usb had stop working some weeks ago

any toughs?

Can you give a little better description of the issue. When you say it's freezing do you mean the mouse locks and you can't do anything?

    If you're running Windows, go to the Microsoft support site and search for Process Explorer. It's a program similar to Task Manager but has a little more to it. You'll want to download that and install it. Once you have it running you'll be able to see exactly what's hanging the system. Run the program and sort the items displayed via CPU usage.

    You say when you move it, it begins to process mean, after it locks you can pick it up and move to another location and everything begins to work again?

    Can you pinpoint what actions cause the lockup?

Did a bios flash and computer started went through boot up but now freezes on logo page will not continue on ?

If the bios was an issue, the motherboard would probably not even start. Try and run CHKDSK/F as soon as you get it to work in safe mode.

Hmm give this method a try. Turn off computer remove AC power adapter. Remove the battery and press the power button for 30 seconds continuously. This removes the static from the system. This process is called as Power drain. This works in most of the cases. Good Luck !!!

Mother board freezes on abit logo wile starting....

Hello Carlos,

Did you open the powersupply and check? I have recently worked on a PC with a similar fault and I found that the circuit board is partly charred and couple of capacitors leaking. I advice that you check it and post back..( I can't forget that repair coz I got one hell of a shock while working on it)

Abit th7raid motherboard-160GB HD cannot recognize-needs flashing-out of my depth!

Hi coonster,

Abit TH7 Raid driver.

Windows inability to see all of your hard disk drive is not a motherboard issue.
It’s a windows issue. ( I suggest you use the hard disk drive software from the manufacture’s web site). Most allow you to download software that allows you to create a bootable floppy disk. Boot to this disk & setup the drive in a dos like window.
Once completed you can now boot to the windows CD. Do not allow windows to format
the drive.
That is what the manufactures disk will do for you. Install windows & please update it fully. Windows should see all of the 160GB after updating.
If you feel you need to update the bios, feel free to do so.
Follow Abit’s instructions on how to update the bios from this link;

If you have never downloaded a bios file or drivers from this site it can be a bit confusing. You’ll need to high-light the entire link below, than right click once to open the pop-up window. Than left click copy. Open internet explorer. Right click once in the address window & left click past. Than press the enter key on your keyboard. The site has a timer on the left side of the page. You’ll have to wait for it to reach zero.
Than a yellow bar will open across the top of the page that says, (To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options...). Right click once on the yellow bar & left click download file. Create a folder on your desktop & name the folder " Drivers". Download the file named "" into the driver folder. Us any uncompressing program & uncompress the file keeping the files within the driver folder. The action of uncompressing the *.zip file will create another folder named " Disk1".

To download the Abit TH7 Raid bios is done like the instructions above. For this bios file you’ll need to do the same with the link below;
Abit TH7 Raid bios file name " th736.exe ".

Please retype verification code: "enter code listed on site".
Press enter.
Again create a folder on your desktop & name it Abit bios.

You will not find any drivers, bios or manuals directly from Abit. They no longer support this motherboard.

Good luck!

Windows Vista Freezes during Boot process

while in safe mode with network connectivity, go to trend micro website and do a free online scan. If you have Windows Defender updated, then try a full system scan, also while in safe mode.
