SOURCE: Have to reassemble VHS-C cassette

Tried searching for a diagram but didn't find one. Usually the spring goes to the plastic door protecting the tape. If the door isn't retacting, you should remove the door altogether and the tape should work as long as it is moving properly when you turn the take up roller on the tape by hand.

SOURCE: cannot reassemble brake band assembly to clutch drum

The brake was engaged when removed. The Illustrated Parts List (IPL) here shows how the majority of components fit together. The brake needs to be released to clear the clutch drum.
Secure the clutch cover (it requires quite a bit of force), with a couple of blocks of wood, in a large vise or a C-clamp on a work surface.

Use a pair of pliers or a crescent and rotate the spoked part CW until it latches. This one is latched.

SOURCE: Reassembly instructions

That little screen that lies at the bottom of the bucket needs to be snapped out and the washer replaced. You have to unscrew the bottom, carefully remove the spring loaded lever, ( don't loose the spring) After fishing the lost rubber washer out of the hole, I used a screw driver or other similar item to pop the screen out. ( use care not to poke a hole in screen.) Next replace lever and spring and push the Star ended piece through the bottom and THEN fasten the washer. Replace all excess pieces and it should be fixed provided the washer isn't badly worn. This is the only way I know how to fix it after countless different web pages and searches.

How to repair a Stanley powerlock 16 measuring tape ?

From the the attached photo I see that you have completely disassemble the tape. This makes the tape almost impossible to reassemble. The spring has to be back wound fully, the blade attached and retracted back into the case using the back wound spring. This requires special equipment that is not overly complicated, however not possible to make for a once off use. I have designed, built and trained operators to use this type of equipment in a production situation, however in my 35 years of experience I have never been seen anyone back wind a spring by hand. Sorry to say but the tape is ready for the trash.

What batterys go in stanley intellitape 77-008

You need 3 CR2450 3v Lithium "coin batteries". They go in with the + sign up. The batteries usually run about $3.50 - $4.00 each, but I just got a pack of 10 from amazon.com for $4.99 & free shipping!

Once you have installed the batteries, slide the cover back on over them from the open edge until it clicks into place. If yours is anything like mine, the retaining screw is long gone. It isn't even necessary, unless you are prone to dropping your tape and the cover will pop off and send the batteries scattering everywhere. Fortunately, I had a jar of small screws sitting around and actually had a screw that fit mine.

I hope this helps you out...
Peace,
Doug

Hi. My Stanley IntelliTape 0-77-008 has an 'error'

Mine did the same thing. To fix it I extended the tape all the way out. As I retracted the tape it started working. Try it and let me know if this worked for you.

How to change the battery on a stanley intellitape 77-008?

On the back of the unit in the left down corner are two screws. The bottom one (smallest) of the two has to be removed and then you can slide out the bottom part where the batteries are.
Good luck.

Reassembling a vhs tape---lots of little internal parts and springs. where do they all go? Is there an exploded diagram for the reassembly?

You do mean a TAPE?
If so I suggest you take apart an old tape that's no good or a cheap new one, that will show you better than a diagram.

Fan problem

Kind of late response but it sounds like the belt has broken or stretched and slipped off. They are hard to find but there are some around.

if it's a very old model, the grease in the fan shaft cap and on the shaft itself, as well as inside the fan centre, may have hardened up. Remove the bottom cover, carefully remove the fan cover/fan cap/c-clip under the cap, spring (note the direction of the top of the spring)/triangular plastic bushing. if the bushing is cracked or cracks when you handle it, it will still work if you reassemble all pieces.

Now clean all greased surfaces and and put a thin but even coat of SUPER LUBE-TEFLON GREASE . It may be sold under different names-it comes in a 3 oz tube, silver grey, and the grease is whitish-clear. Fill the fan cap with it when reassembling. Also put a large dab on the end of the fan that sits (when the projector is upside down) on the "bottom" of the projector. You can usually find Super-lube at any industrial supply store.

Besure to make sure there are no pinched wires when you reassemble the projector.
