I HAVE A MANITOWOC QM30A ICE MACHINE. WILL THE LIQUID LINE THERMISTOR CAUSE IT TO RUN BUT NOT MAKE ICE?

In addition to the standard safety controls, your
Manitowoc ice machine features built-in safety limits
that will stop the ice machine if conditions arise which
could cause a major component failure.
Before calling for service, re-start the ice machine
using the following procedure:
1. Move the ON/OFF/WASH switch to OFF and then
back to ON.
2. If the safety limit feature has stopped the ice
machine, it will restart after a short delay.
If the ice machine stops again, the condition
has reoccurred. Call for service.

When was the last time it was serviced? They need doing every year, clean coils, sanitize and descale.

when this occurs, please add some salt to the idea in order to stop the ice from sticking together as much. That's the temporary fix. For any other machine, I would think this was an oil issue. That's the parts that create the ice stop-up due to friction caused by a lack of oil. I'm guessing that every time you clean the machine, you decrease the friction between its parts due to the water/soap that you use, but then the oily soap residue gets used up, and the issue returns. Please test out my idea.

Is this a used machine?

The thickness sensor is shorting, making the machine continually harvest. Clean it and dry it. If it still happens, replace the sensor.

most of the problems on ice machines is a restriction in water circulation due to no maintenance. Might need some cleaning to be done.

Sounds like the refrigerant leaked out.

This is one of two things, either the inline filter on the machine has gone bad. Or there is a leak and it is low on freon. If it is low on freon a company can come out and put in a saddle tap and check both freon levels and also add some dye for leak check.

i suspect a defective liquid line or pump down seleonid coil. just make sure you hear the "click" when it starts up if not the selenoid coils could be defective. also verify that the condenser fan is running,because if not you are short-cycling on high head pressure. please contact if you need any additional info
