Probably a CARRIAGE jam, not likely a cartridge jam. Paper dust and stray ink can cause the end of carriage sensor(s) to malfunction. This will cause the carriage to crash into the stops. Sometimes cleaning the sensors can solve this. Other times the crash damages the carriage drive gears and basically requires the printer to be replaced. Repair is not really an option as these things are so inexpensive they are manufactured as throw-away items.

Hi , I think the belt which moves the cartridge is worn out or it could be something to do with the sensor.check both and should work fine.

SOURCE: HP Laser Jet 3300 constant noise

I had the same problem. After updating a hp firmware, so far so good. The noise is gone.

That is the link for the 3330. It is under the downloads section and is at the bottom. They refer to it as firmware

Hi,

The unit may have a paper jam or stuck object inside, if you have experience a paper jam error before, check the printer for any object or paper stuck inside, clean roller.

Some error like this can be a problem on the feeder sensor and by this time you may need to replace and repair the unit.

Hope this initial info helps

SOURCE: i have a hp desk jet 5440 i put i a new tricolor

Make sure that your buying a new Tricolor as the same and Geniune too.
Only solution to this is put it properly inside your printer.
At first sometimes New Cartridge are being initial & calibrate by your printer before it works.
Power Off first your printer and put the cartridge inside. If the problem still exist then put back again your old cartridge and identify what is the problem occur before you put a new cartridge on it.
Good luck!

My printer hp desk jet 2135 light for color cartridge is blinking even if after replacing new 2 defferent ink

Improper placement or installation of the ink cartridges might cause the printer to indicate a carriage jam error. To make sure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly, remove and reinstall the ink cartridges, and then try to print again. Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.

Hp officejet 4315 series carriage jam, makes a loud clicking noise then jams fases light. [email protected]

A lot of times this is caused by something that has fallen into the printer - I just pulled a necklace out of one - when the cartridges are not at the far left or right pull the plug on the printer and move the carriage until it stops and look for an obstruction there

Hp 460 desk jet cartridge jams half way. have removed and re seated cartridges

make sure that the paper is held down by the main roller and the smaller rollers at the front edge of the exit bay. It may be that the cartridge assembly jams because it gets in contact with the paper.
Also, it may be an issue of too much friction, so you'll need to get a electronics lubricant and cleaner solvent which comes in a pressurized can and you can find it in all larger supermarkets or local toolstores. Then, spray the metal bar on which the printhead glides, and also spray some of the lubricant onto the rubber belt, and the gears at both ends of the belt.

HP F4280 All in one Printer. Feed jammed (AVERY 8376 Ink Jet Business Cards); printer made noises, finally stopped; pulled paper backwards out of printer. Turned the printer on and the cartridges bang...

Hi there,

Well it's likely two cause in your case -
1.- It might be a misplaced actuator, check for instructions at:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&lang=en&cc=us&product=58057&dl...

2.- Check the power supply and its cable. It might be at the end of its life. Ideally, you should check the power supply under load at its limit. You may use a resistor rated for the load. It will be HOT, be careful. If you don't have it, might be more cumbersome, but you can use the printer as load, and make a test connector that allow you access to voltage terminals.

Good Luck!!

Thanks
