Probably a CARRIAGE jam, not likely a cartridge jam. Paper dust and stray ink can cause the end of carriage sensor(s) to malfunction. This will cause the carriage to crash into the stops. Sometimes cleaning the sensors can solve this. Other times the crash damages the carriage drive gears and basically requires the printer to be replaced. Repair is not really an option as these things are so inexpensive they are manufactured as throw-away items.

Hi , I think the belt which moves the cartridge is worn out or it could be something to do with the sensor.check both and should work fine.

I had the same problem. After updating a hp firmware, so far so good. The noise is gone.

Hi,
The unit may have a paper jam or stuck object inside, if you
have experience a paper jam error before, check the printer for any
object or paper stuck inside, clean roller.
Some error like this can be a problem on the feeder sensor and by this time you may need to replace and repair the unit.
Hope this initial info helps

Make sure that your buying a new Tricolor as the same and Geniune too.
Only solution to this is put it properly inside your printer.
At first sometimes New Cartridge are being initial & calibrate by your printer before it works.
Power Off first your printer and put the cartridge inside. If the problem still exist then put back again your old cartridge and identify what is the problem occur before you put a new cartridge on it.
Good luck!
