Playback error everytime i try and play my newly downloaded songs i get Playback Error on my mp3 player screen ... what should i do to fix this?ashlee

  • Tim Clendenin Jan 03, 2008

I've recently experienced the same problem. My ZEN Sleek Photo displays "Playback Error" on any of my downloaded songs. Ripped songs play fine. I've done the disk clean-up and reloaded the firmware. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with the helpful folks at Napster who tried to help, to no avail. Creative's customer service is terrible.

I have a Sony MP3 Player Walkman NW-E005F. I am getting a message displayed on the walkman: 'DRM Error' that is preventing many songs from being played. Can I have some assistance please!

It means the Digital Rights to the song have expired.

From Sony's site:
"This issue may occur if the license for the track you are trying to play has expired on the device. If you currently subscribe to a music subscription service, connect the device and sign into the account to refresh your license to allow for playback. You may need to do this once during each billing period to listen to the subscription music you have transferred. If you are no longer a subscriber to the service where you downloaded the file from, you can delete the song from your portable player to prevent this error from occurring each time you try to play the song back."

Wont play the whole song

Hello,

Sounds like the player is running in INTRO mode, only playing the first part of each song. To change playback mode, follow the steps as described below.

Switch the player ON and start music playback:
1. Press PLAY button to START music to play
2. Press PLAY button again to PAUSE the playback
3. Press MODE button to enter playback mode selection
4. Scroll with MODE button through selections
5. Press MODE button when selection REPEAT is in the display
6. Use MODE button to select from: Normal, Repeat One, Repeat
within current Folder (if any), Repeat Folders (if any), Repeat
All songs, Random Play back, and Intro
7. Press MODE button to confirm selection

Downloaded music to 60g zen xtra

Hi there

I would suggest that you have a look at the file format, i.e .mp3 .wma and then make sure that you mp3 player supports that file format because if the mp3 player only supports mp3's then it will not play .wma. Please remember to give me a good rating.

Kind regards

"playback error"

Try replacing the songs, like, putting them on again. I don't know 100% if it will work but mine had the same problem and this worked.
