I have an xbox 360 and i had opened it. when i opened it, the warrenty sticker was cut as well. but the 360 warrenty was out of date anyway. so my question is if i sent it to microsoft for the rrod. will they over look the fact i took it apart?
but i had sent it in before with the rrod and the seal was broken then and they fixed it. so hopefully they will fix it for free.but i had sent it in before with the rrod and the seal was broken then and they fixed it. so hopefully they will fix it for free.

You have an overheating problem. The quickest and easiest and least risky way to fix it is to do an X-clamp fix. If you don't want to open your 360 DUE TO WARRENTY, then send it to microsoft. IF YOU HAVE NO WARRENTY, do the x clamp fix. Or you could try the towel trick. All these methods can be found on google.
As long as the warrenty sticker has not been tampred with microsoft will cover the repair of this free of charge in there 3 year warrenty period just contact m/soft customer services
you can open your xbox if your warrenty is allready up
open your cd drive and tighten a screw that controls where the lens slides as it probably slides too far look it up on youtube for more info
If you still have a warrenty sticker call up Microsoft and tell them that your Xbox 360 has overheated, and tell them your serial code. They will tell you if your warrenty is expired, if it's not they will ask you where you live then pick up your Xbox 360 and fix it for free. If your warrenty has expired try this. Power off the Xbox 360 and when it is off press the eject button, it might open they tray. Or try opening your Xbox 360 and remove the disk drives cables from the disk drive and the motherboard and put it back together, you should never try the towel trick really, although it works it can also give your Xbox 360 3 red lights then you have to buy X-clamps and theormo paste, just do the X-clamps and theormo paste when you get one red light. I have had two Xbox 360's, when I did the towel trick it burnt the GPU, the other one a little componante came loose, sorry for my spelling. Hope this helps =D
if its 3 red rings then you need to cal customer support at 1-800-4myxbox to see if your still under warrenty and if you are you get a new xbox. if you arent under warrenty you can open your xbox which will void your warrenty if you have one. and you can repair it yourself which is risky if you do not know alot about system parts
