Faded section of screen

Approx 3/4 across to right hand side of screen, I have a faded 2" wide line line from top of picture to half way down screen.
Any ideas?

    Hi,

It's a plasma screen and it has now cured itself after showing the problem for around ten days!!??

A little worrying, as it is now out of warranty.

TV is a PANASONIC full HD

The problem has now gone, but it was also visible when playing DVD's.

It was not a black band, but just like a 60% paler picture in the specific area - wierd!

    Thanks for all your help

What is your TV brand? For the plasma, if the black bar appears all the times and on all sources, the problem might come from the so-called address bar inside the TV. Try to play DVD to see if the bar is still there. If it is, you need technician to check and find the problem.

Is it an LCD or plasma monitor? If it's an LCD, it's possible that one of the fluorescent backlight tubes is bad. In some early ones, this is bonded to the LCD panel so it's not replaceable. Maybe it's under warranty?

If there is a wide faded vertical line that is showing on the screen and a black film that shows up periodically across the screen. Does that mean that the picture screen need to be replaced?

Picture tubes are one of the last components to actually die in any CRT television. Usually the only reason they are / were changed was due to colour degradation or dead pixels. I would be looking at either the colour boards or for yoke damage. If the picture still fills the entire screen then the high voltage section and tube are still OK.
Hope this helps a bit. Cheers Bob

you can only replace lcd's not fix them, take the item back for a manufactures warranty replacement- it sounds like the lcd pixels dead or at least on its way, also a possibility the lcd controller is malfunctioning

Picture flickering and faded on left had side of the screen

if rebooting the monitor would do no good, try to get a spare monitor cable if the same flickering issue took effect. If it is so, then call your pc provider to repair your monitor..

Print quality: dark faded, but continuous

Open top cover and remove toner, shake toner cartridge and try a test print. IF image good then problem is low toner level in cartridge.

OkiC5200 has an inch wide faded print line down the left side

It might be a dirty led assembly. The leds hang down from the top when it is opened.

Magicolor 2400W - Printing Problem

check the green levers at the top of the fuser unit that have envelope icons on them.  They reduce pressure on the fuser assembly for thick stock.  It is possible that one side is up the other down, causing uneven pressure across a page.

Picture faded with white broken lines

Hi, the problems you describe are indeed related... the cable that carries the data from the lower section (mainboard) to the top screen is also responsible for the sound and the speakers are connected to this cable near the top LCD screen. It sounds like the cable has become damaged and will need replacing which unfortunatley means a new top screen due to the way the cable is connected to the screen. I come across this problem frequently and I charge customers £35 for a replacement screen and fitting.
