I bought a Fantom Titanium II 200GB External Hard Drive earlier this year. I have an iMac G5 with Mac OSX Tiger installed. It worked fine for the first few months, but this summer, it stopped showing up on my computer all together. I thought maybe it was one of my Mac updates, but after doing some research on that and a whole lot of fiddling, I realized it wasn't that. I've spent the last few months trying to figure out and troubleshoot the problem, but I have no idea what to do.
It doesn't even recognize it when it's plugged in for me to access it on Apple's Disk Utility to reformat it. Any ideas?
If its usb then i have a feeling its not the hard drive thats bad i think it sounds like the case .
you can try buying another case and transfering the hard drive to it the case is around $20.00

Where would I get another case for it though?
Fantom Drive usb 2 used to work...now it doesnt. Cant access it no matter what I do. Please offer solution....Had all my pictures, videos, music on there.
Same deal. Not recognized by disk utility. Previously worked fine.
When I first bought it and connected it - it worked just fine - I sonnected it both to my home and then to my office's PC... and I backed them up... then I left it connected to my home PC but never used it again to do another BU... now that this old PC is flaky and I bought me a new laptop to use, I cant see it - I connect it to other PC's and it connects and self-configures just fine, but then you can't see it in windows explorer to be able to use it... no matter what you do...
Any help/ideas would be very much appreciated...
